alysandra was the second born child and princess of the seelie court, born on a crisp winter evening at the strike of midnight.
her entire life has been in the shadows, not as important as the firstborn, but expected to excel in her studies just as much in case anything were to happen to her sister
when her sister was crowned queen of the seelie court, it was the second happiest moment of her life. she preferred the shadows, it was easier to learn the secrets of others and to go unnoticed with her own ambitions.
the happiest ? her niece avalon’s birth. with their parents gone, her sister and avalon were alysandra’s only family. she also came with the added bonus of taking alysandra’s position as replacement to the throne.
alysandra loved the seelie court with her entire immortal soul, and spent most of her time learning medicine. with no distinct royal responsibilities other than a potential advisor/council member to avalon, she planned to purchase her own land and become a healer.
unfortunately, her healing apprenticeship and ambitions were quickly cut short when the queen introduced her to their royal guest – the king of the unseelie court – as his new bride.
horrified and outraged, alysandra fought against the marriage, nearly being carried off. the only argument that managed to convince her: their marriage would solidify an alliance and keep her people from suffering at the hands of war.
she has been queen of the unseelie court for only a few years – a blink of an eye in fae time – and has found herself a step-mother (in mortal terms) to the king’s two existing children. alysandra has yet to produce him another heir herself and hopes not to, despite her sister’s frequent letters.
alysandra frequently sneaks out of the palace in common faerie clothing, stealing taking medicinal properties and a basket of food with her for the villagers.
upon hearing her niece and nephew left for the mortal realm, alysandra petitioned to leave as well under the guise of making sure the king’s heirs and political agendas are taken care of.
although she is private and enigmatic herself, alysandra’s strong curiosity often gets her into trouble.
her opinion on the veils is currently to stay away from them, as she has no personal investment currently.
hobbies include: stargazing, spying on important conversations, sketching, reading, her herb garden, breaking rules, defying those in power.
assuming a human identity, alysandra gave herself the surname of carwyn ( meaning bright ), her own personal reminder that her true alliances lie with the seelie court.
