every day with someone new

Kallista had been out for a few days, but her dreams weren’t as they normally were–there were flashes of people she knew, some she didn’t, and the distinct feeling like she should remember what she saw. Once she woke up, her pounding headache was enough of a distraction to momentarily forget about the strange dreams. She remembered the fight with Niobe and hitting her head when she tried to run away, but everything after was dark. One of the nurses told her she’d been out for a few days and helped her out of bed to stretch her legs, but she’d quickly seen Cat on the other side of the room and stumbled toward her, a crying wreck. It didn’t take long before she was exhausted again, but settled on a chair next to her sister’s bed with her head on the edge of the mattress, sleeping off and on while she waited for Cat to wake up.

Cat woke up groggy and feeling confused about where she was. It took her a few minutes to put the pieces together, but she felt like her entire body was sore. Once she realized she was in a bed, she looked over to see her sister sitting next to her, asleep against her bed. She tried to smile, but even that hurt to do, so she tried to speak through her dry throat. “Kalli? Hey, what a face to wake up to,” she laughed, then winced from the pain. “Ow.”

He winked at the man at his comment before a laugh left his lips when she spoke. “She wants us to show a good time.” Eli turned to Orion in amusement and scoffed. “She’s funny.” A smirk grew on his lips as he recognized her. “I know this one – it’s Kooky Kalli’s sister. Prefect and annoying as fuck.” His expression turned more manic as he took a step towards her. “You are just as dumb as her, huh? You should have walked the opposite direction when you saw us, Doe eyes. We – are you reaching for your wand? When I am just talking? If that’s how you want to play this–“ Before she could respond he had raised his wand without a second thought. “Crucio!” @corafawley​ 

“Hey! Don’t talk about my sister like that!” Cat exclaimed before feeling the pain shoot through her body. She fell to the floor in pain and screamed, her wand falling out of her grasp and rolling away on the floor. “Stop! Please!” she begged. “I was just trying to get away,” she insisted, trying to push herself up to her feet again. This was it, she was taking a break from alcohol if she made it out alive. “I won’t tell anyone I saw you,” she promised.

Regulus felt restless, and had since he first woke up in the hospital wing. He was certain that a letter from his parents would be coming the second he was out of here, that an inevitable summons home for what his parents perceived to be a disgraceful choice would soon arrive. He couldn’t bring himself to regret his actions, though. For once he had acted on his gut, followed his heart, and he couldn’t fault himself for that. But Merlin, was waiting the worst. “Do you think Madame Pomfrey would get upset if I had someone bring my cat to me?” he asked the person closest to him.

Cat had just woken up, delirious on pain medication and trying to figure out where she was. Once she realized she was in a bed in the hospital wing, she heard Regulus say something from his spot next to her. The words seem to jumble in her foggy brain, so she tried to push herself into a sitting position. “Cat? I’m right here!” she exclaimed, then chuckled although she wasn’t sure why that was funny to her. “What Madame Pomfrey doesn’t know won’t hurt her.”

And it was another one, dead before the night ended. He was thriving in the chaos, and as he crossed over the dead boy who’s only mistake was to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, his eyes fell on the new person who was walking towards him in the hallway, as he stood there twirling his wand in his hand. “Do you want to be next?” he asked, his voice sweet as honey - before a maniacal laughter left his lips, echoing through the corridor. The few months at Azkaban had made him more deranged than he used to be, and it showed. 

orion was thriving in the chaos. azkaban was too confined for his liking and he hadn’t been able to speak to his favorite person. escaping had been easy. breaking into hogwarts had been even easier and he practically jumped down the hall with excitement at every death and injury. “oh. this one is pretty! but not as pretty as you.” he said to eli, clapping his hands together before he turned to face the girl. “what’s someone like you doing out here. have a death wish?” he asked, sending a random spell towards someone running by. @catmacdougal·

Catriona had been completely taken off guard when chaos erupted. Her head was spinning from the alcohol and the people running in every direction, the only thought in her mind was to try and get away from people. She had lost track of where she had ended up until she saw them both, but it took a moment to register she was in danger. She reached back to get her wand from a special pocket in the back of her dress and tried to stay steady as she held it defensively. “Who, me? I just came here for a good time,” she said in a relatively relaxed tone. “You boys causing a little trouble?” Then she furrowed her brows and looked at Orion. “You don’t even go here.” @elirowle​

“A very, very horrible person.” She teased, instants before feeling the other girl’s lips on hers. She’d kissed so many people already, but she wasn’t growing tired of it; it was still very enjoyable. “That would be amazing. Makes the events more fun.” She grinned.

Cat smirked and leaned over to rest her elbows on the booth table. “Did you come with a date? I bet they’re jealous of all this, not that I’d blame them. Your line’s been pretty long, for obvious reasons,” she winked. 

Max had lost sight of Niobe, and while trying to find her, he’d somehow managed to get himself stuck in the middle of the dancefloor. That much, he could handle, just had to push a few people out of his way and it’d be fine. Until a girl caught his arm. “No, no. I don’t dance.”

“Don’t dance? You know what this is right?” Cat giggled, turning around to shake her hips in front of him. She flipped her hair and turned back to look at him with a coy smile. “This is a dance. It’s the whole point! Let loose a little.” 

“Thank you, Cat.” she said smiling widely. She was rather proud of how everything had turned out, this had been something she had been working on for a long time and it was wonderful to finally see it happen. “Flattery will take you everywhere.” she winked at her. “Did you like your outfit?” 

“Are you kidding?” Cat smiled widely. “This is the most stunning thing I’ve ever worn, I look like a sexy angel,” she chuckled and wiggled her hips. “Honestly, you should be really proud of yourself. I’m betting all the rich families will come straight to you for all their important outfits. Are you going to let yourself celebrate now that it’s over?”

“I hope every event can be like this,” she said with a dreamy smile. “Yes, Claire Parkinson asked me to wear this really pretty pink skirt and I couldn’t say no!” Kallista turned to look at her sister, linking their arms as they walked further into the room. “Promise me you’ll at least dance with me before you go off flirting with someone?”

“Ah, pink is definitely your colour,” Cat smiled and nodded, happily walking arm in arm with her sister. “For you? My dance card is always open,” she laughed as they got close to the dance floor. Cat unlinked their arms and took her sister by the hand instead, spinning her in a twirl before bursting into giggles. “Come on Kalli, there must be someone here you’re looking to flirt with. I mean, what better night to do it?”

“It’s for a good cause, and it’s really just a kiss.” Florence said with a grin, leaning slightly over the edge of the kissing booth. Definitely, volunteering for this had been… a good decision. She certainly didn’t mind all of those people coming over. “Plus, you get to kiss me, I’d say that’s a good deal.”

“Well what kind of horrible person would I be if I said no to that?” Cat smirked, leaning forward to press her lips against the other’s while putting one hand behind Florence’s neck. “They should have a kissing booth at every event here,” she chuckled after pulling away.

Kallista all but skipped into the room, the hem of her dress brushing her knees with each step. Her head was tilted back as she stared on in amazement of the decorations. “The castle has never looked prettier–Well,” she giggled, glancing at the person closest to her, and continued, “The castle always looks pretty, there’s just something so much more…fantastic! Like a dream!”

“Well that’s the point isn’t it?” Cat smirked. “Making an image of a love-filled fantasy. You look really good sis,” she smiled at her older sister as she walked over to her in her own rather short dress. “Are you in the fashion show later? I’ll be wearing this awesome lingerie set, I’m totally getting laid tonight,” she chuckled.

“It’s all going rather well, don’t you think?” Claire said, clearly pleased with how the Fashion show was moving. Of course, she and her friends had planned impeccably, how could anything go wrong? “The red ball gown is next!” Claire called before her attention turned back to the person she was speaking to. “You were saying?” 

“I was saying you’ve really outdone yourself!” Cat smiled and shimmied a bit in her lingerie, clearly loving the wing-like attachment. There were still a few people before her and she wanted to make sure to congratulate Claire before she would be hounded afterwards. “Seriously though, you’re a creative genius,” she nodded, which was a rare compliment coming from her.

Emrys’ head was foggy, and he’d come back to Hogwarts to a very frantic Winnie, claiming he’d been gone for the past couple of days. He didn’t remember anything, but made some quick lie up that he’d had to do something for the order to her, and to tell her if anyone asks - he’d gone home to their grandparents. He didn’t want to worry either of his sisters.

His hands were buried deep in his pockets as he roamed the halls, eyes scanning the corridors as his mind wandered. Where had he been? Why couldn’t he remember? Seeing someone approach him, Emrys let out a groan. “Before you ask, I had to go and deal with something at my Grandparents house. Apparently they forgot to mention it to my sisters. Speaking of Winnie and Gwen, can you please tell them not to worry about me?”

Catriona was on her way to study in the library when she noticed Emrys and heard his request. “Didn’t really notice, but yeah I can let Gwen know when I go back to the common room. You should probably send them an owl next time,” she suggested. “Your grandparents pulled you out of classes for help? Must have been important.”
