when I was super depressed in college I wrote 100k words of a story about a woman who gets out of a time loop after an iteration of the loop where she fucks everything up in her life because she had just assumed she'd always be stuck there, and the story takes place entirely AFTER the loop. Anyway, I just found it on my old laptop and I'm considering rereading it but also terrified. this post has no other point than I love to yap.
on your rambles on timeloops and not being able to die as a metaphor for fame, have you seen the ongoing my chemical romance timeloop? repeatedly bringing the same fake band back from the dead over and over because people want to see them.

ok so technically its not really a time loop because time is still passing normally but it counts to me
also in the tags i really only mentioned the story of the 2025 leg of the tour because this new one seems to have different themes? and also gerard isnt the one dying in this one but just know that im obsessed with both of them (and so far i like the story of the '26 leg more!)
BUT they both loop in the same sort of way id say. at the end of the day theres always someone dying and coming back next show where they dont remember most/any of what happened last time. and its always the same-ish events each time with minor changes (time loop fans when the loop changes slightly or whatever)
yeah so i have so many disjointed thoughts about this fucking tour. also the themes of being like reborn & shit (worst day of your life, first day of yourself. i think there was a screen that referenced something like that idk id have to look for it) so far with the 2026 part of the tour can probably tie into the ""time"" loop but thats a WHOLE OTHER RANT. if someone asks for it i may or may not go into it. i probably would.
as i was reading through the posts here i thought to myself "man i can feel myself becoming exhausted just at the thought of being in a time loop i would Not survive" and then i realized. yes. yes i would survive. i would have no choice ,
honestly my favorite part of time loop stories is the impermanence of death. you can die over & over & over & youre still here. and that makes for really good horror if you give it to the right writer imo.
but yeah you have to survive because Something / Someone wants you alive. whether you like it or not, whatever It is needs you specifically.

If I was in a time loop I would simply read every book ever, which is possible since books are non-linear.
It would be like the infinite library except better because there is food and video games and the sky.
This would work really well and be very fun the entire time no breaks at all.
hell yeah. hopefully you have a good library and/or bookstore really close to you though. if not you might just have to deal with not being able to get some books in time (within a day/week/however long your loop is)
