Rory looked at him uncertainly for a moment before she took the book, and when she did her eyes blew wide. "Seriously? Jess, this is amazing! Where did you… wait you said the thrift store. That’s a really cool find, are you sure you wanna give it up?"

The worst thing she's ever done? That was a loaded question. Here at the hospital? Outside of the hospital? In general, or was there a specific topic? Come to think of it, she couldn't name one thing... Was her life really that boring? Unless he meant the patients she's lost, or almost lost because of the worst calls of her life.

Tilting her head, as her eyes made their way to his. Full of wonder, full of an innocence only she could carry. Frank had become someone she looked up to , someone she waited to see walk through the hospital doors. Which was weird, because they barely knew each other, but she trusted him. Wanted him around.

Honestly he was kind of surprised that she didn’t just call him out before he could cop to it. Granted, that didn’t really seem like something she’d do. Especially when he was saying he was going to admit to it all anyway. Mel had told him that she didn’t listen to rumours - that she knew better than to believe them. Which was great.

… unfortunately, in this particular instance, the rumours were right. And he thought Mel had the right to know, after having his back since he returned. "I stole drugs from the hospital." Langdon admitted, not quite making eye contact. "I knew it was wrong, but I convinced myself that I could treat myself better than someone else could. And it was just… a domino effect."

"What's the difference?" She asked, head tilting towards the side, confusion etching on her features. She was toying with him, she knew what he meant, knew he didn't need saving. Not from her. But perhaps she wanted him to grovel, to say it again a dozen times over. Stay.

Matty groaned and scrubbed a hand over his face. She was fucking with him, and he knew it. Yet, he didn’t call her out on it. Why would he? It wouldn’t accomplish anything except maybe making her pout, and he definitely didn’t want that. "Yeah, well what if I don't care?" He asked, gaze fixed on her. "I'm gonna be miserable if you go, Bex."

Arlo came in despite the sign reading closed. Being back in town, he had to come see her, after all. Granted, he didn't expect her to go into her whole spiel before she even looked at him. It was kind of adorable. "Oh yeah, I'm totally looking to sign up for some classes, ma'am." He teased, a grin on his face up until she recognized him. Then he raised a hand to wave. "Hey. Long time, no see?"

"Thanks, Luke." Rory replied when he put food down in front of her. It was so clear, though, that she was distracted. Luke could tell immediately, of course. He always knew when a Gilmore Girl was ruffled - it was like his superpower. She wet her lips and shook her head a little. "No, it's... I mean... maybe? Is Jess back?" Rory asked, gaze flickering up to meet Luke's. "I thought I saw him through the window but then I came in and he wasn't here and maybe I'm just seeing things but I could have sworn, and if he's here, is he avoiding me? Or am I just going crazy?"

Honestly, Clark probably should have just told her that he suspected her. He remembered how hard it was to sneak around, and how much easier his life had gotten when he'd told his friends his secret. His parents had known all along. But... he shook his head a little. "Or at least, if you're going to be late, let me know." A pause. "But try not to make it a habit." Toeing the line between supporting father giving her space, and being too controlling was hard. "No, no, of course I wasn't I was just... waiting for you. Yeah. I worry."
