I feel like there would be two sides of a relationship with Stanford Pines and it would really depend on whether it’s before he gets sucked into the portal and after.

Don’t get me wrong, I love that silly, six fingered nerd, but a relationship with pre-portal Ford would be horrible. He would never make time for you. You would always be the second most important thing to him. I don’t think he’d ever put your first. Constantly, he would tell you something along the lines of “Sorry, dear. I’m quite busy. Maybe later?” There would never be a later. Once Bill comes around, you’re third in line. Muse, research, then you. Unless you were in. Immediately, life threatening danger, he wouldn’t be around. If you were living together, it would be more akin to having a roommate than a partner. Pre-portal Ford would also be toxic, for sure.

Post-portal Ford, especially post-Weirdmegeddon Ford, however, would be so very doting. He’s older, more wise. I think he would finally start to appreciate a partner if he had one. He’d always make time for you. His research would still be insanely important, but he’d want to make time for you. You would still be second, but only to his family. As a requirement, you and Stan would have to get along. You must love Dipper and Mabel. If you don’t, the relationship wouldn’t last long. Apart from that, I’d think Ford would take you with him on all of his adventures just so he could spend time with you. Even if the potential of you being in danger scared him, he’d take you with him if you insisted. There would be a safety protocol.
