However, Silver, our heroic time traveler, did not lose hope. After a defeat against this new threat, he made the suicidal decision to trap the god in a time loop with him for what felt like an eternity, an eternity depriving him of the peaceful world he longed for. Sensing his powers waning, and having learned from Blaze's sacrifice how to seal a god within his own body, the hedgehog accomplished this colossal task, merging with the destructive Solaris.

Silver then escaped his time loop to travel back in time to a time before the events that led to Sonic's death, hoping that his friends, having forgotten his existence, would end his life and the god's as well. The eroded spirit of the white hedgehog is torn between the desire to destroy Solaris and the wish to die a martyr to finally offer a world of peace. Sowing chaos against his will, and considered the destroyer of Soleanna's protective deity, Silver was then renamed: "Chronos, the Devourer of Gods."
