Oh, Sweet Insanity

Wherever someone’s ascendant falls in our houses, that’s where we see the person at first sight and how we think they’ll fit into our lives. To me, rising signs can be such a smoke curtain. It takes a while to see the person behind the ascendant. Some say the ascendant is the cover of the book. And that can be quite delusive. As such, I don’t put too much stock in ascendant-house overlays. I look primarily at actual planets, such as the inner [personal] planets (sun, MOON, VENUS, Mars); I also look at prominent asteroids (Lilith, Chiron, etc.). But someone asked for this, so since I didn’t see too much on it myself, I figured…what the hell.

1st house - Ascendant: The ascendant often has to do with first impressions that we get from others.  This shows that the two of you tend to see the world in the same way and have similar visceral responses to likes and dislikes. While this may seem like a favorable indication for a relationship, too much similarity tends to create stagnation and lack of interest. Since the purpose of any relationship is spiritual growth, this combination would probably only survive if there is greater contrariety in as far as other indicators are concerned.

2nd house - Ascendant:  This overlay indicates a very basic kind of physical attraction. The ascendant person particularly could enhance physical attraction and feelings of sensuality in the 2nd house person. The ascendant can influence the house person in a positive way and can also bolster his/her feelings of self-worth. In return, the house person gives the ascendant person comfort, security, and a feeling of usefulness within that relationship.

3rd house - Ascendant:  The basic spiritual awareness and intuitive perceptions of the ascendant person will influence the thinking and mental attitudes of the 3rd house person. The ideas, mental attitudes, and communication of the house person are likely, in turn, to influence the self-image and basic attitude and actions of the ascendant person.

4th house - Ascendant:  The ascendant person’s actions and self-expression will have a strong emotional impact on the 4th house person. This influence will be particularly felt in the house person’s family and domestic affairs. The house person can provide a home and base of operations for the ascendant’s expressions. There will be strong emotional ties in your family relationships, whether they’re good (meaning that the ascendant person has a Cancer rising, Leo rising, or earth rising sign, and the house person has their 4th in Cancer, Taurus, Leo, Virgo, or Libra) or bad (the ascendant person having a fire/air sign, Pisces rising or Scorpio rising and the house person having their 4th in Aries, Sagittarius, Scorpio, Gemini, Aquarius)

5th house - Ascendant:  This overlay can indicate a strong spiritual link between the two.of them. On the negative side, though, there can be danger of competition. These two can effectively reinforce self-image, self-awareness, willpower and self-expression. If the two parties take advantage of the positive influence of this overlay, its effect can be very powerful.

6th house - Ascendant:  This overlay indicates a very complex kind of physical attraction. The ascendant person particularly could enhance physical fitness and health in the 6th house person. Also, the ascendant can influence the house person in a positive way and can also bolster his/her feelings of self-worth. In return, the house person gives the ascendant person structure, order, and a feeling of helpfulness within that relationship; the house person makes the ascendant person want to be better and more perfect, physically. They either can work well together (if the ascendant person has their rising in Leo, Aquarius, or an earth or water sign and the house person’s 6th is in Leo, Aquarius or an earth or water sign) or the partners fail to cooperate with each other in meeting various responsibilities (the ascendant is either in an air or fire sign and the house person’s 6th is in a water or earth sign; or conversely, the ascendant is either in an earth or water sign and the house person’s 6th is in an air or fire sign).

7th house - Ascendant:  In love relationships, this combination can create a strong romantic sensual attraction. They tend to both sit up and take notice of each other. The ascendant individual tends to initiate the first contact and may be the first to notice the 7th house individual. The house individual is capable of making the ascendant individual feel good about him/herself and loved. Friendship results in other circumstances (which is more often than not). One mirrors the other’s approach to life, at least on the surface. However, even though they will probably feel an instant affinity for and attraction toward one another, this overlay does not guarantee they will be compatible on deeper issues. As such, having the ascendant in a tight conjunction to another’s actual descendant is more  powerful and definitely inspires attention.

8th house - Ascendant: They will encourage each other to make greater efforts towards physical and spiritual self-improvement. The 8th house person can have a strong spiritual or occult influence on the ascendant person’s basic consciousnesses and self-awareness. In a romantic relationship, strong sexual attraction is likely.

9th house - Ascendant: The 9th house person encourages the ascendant person’s efforts at personal and spiritual self-improvement and helps him/her develop a more positive self-image and mores socially constructive means of personal self-expression. The ascendant person will give energy and active support to the house person’s efforts to aid or improve the larger social order. They will be natural friends and enjoy each other’s company.

10th house - Ascendant:  The 10th house person will influence the ascendant person to be more mature, serious, purposeful an businesslike in personal self-expression ad basic approach to life and more cautious and less impulsive in personal actions. The ascendant person can help the house person to overcome fear. However, if the ascendant person’s rising sign is in Virgo, Pisces, or in a fire or air sign and the house person’s 10th is in Capricorn, Taurus, Cancer, or Scorpio, then the ascendant person will regard the house person as a threat to his/her freedom of self-expression in action; the house person may regard the ascendant person as immature, self-centered and impulsive

11th house - Ascendant: The 11th house person feels special and adored by the ascendant person. The ascendant person make the house person feel that what he/she is accepted and valued for his/her uniqueness, and welcomed into the fold of that person’s life. These two will encourage each other to develop their inner spiritual awareness and unique creative abilities. For the relationship to be harmonious, the both of them must respect the other’s independence and free will.

•water risings tend to have a lot of trauma especially in the realm of emotions due to their water houses falling on the cusp of air/earth signs and their “water rising” is merely a unconscious reaction to the trauma they see in others—hence why they come across as either nurturing or mysterious as that is their response to the trauma they experienced.

•Virgo and Gemini have a natural connection and can easily interpret the ideas and concepts that the other is making out.

•the sign born in the year of that designated Pluto sign tend to be the most mature and or intense of the bunch. The elements aligned with that sign as well to a lesser extent. Ex. Pluto in sag gen; Sagittarius placements and or sun in sag born during this time are far more intense then they’ve previously been and have a more raw Plutonian energy along with the Leo and Aries of this generation. Cancer/Scorpio/Pisces born during the Pluto in Scorpio generation are far more intense then they’ve been and so on. This applies as well to signs sextile/trine the sign itself. And even more so for signs square and or opposite in close degrees.

Now place Uranus in the 10th house(Capricorn/Saturn influence) and venus In the 6th house(Virgo/mercury influence) this person is going to come across far more grounded and even more serious/somber than most aqua moons. Or take a Aries moon in the first decan which is ruled by mars correct? Let’s put their mars in the 12th house and have it be mars in cancer—so this native is far more emotionally cautious and receptive than most Aries moons along with maybe their Aries moon already being situated somewhere like the 10th house which adds grounding to all of this.

•in synastry it’s good if the house your personal plants fall in is present in synastry or of the similar house elements. Ex: venus in the 6th house would love 2nd house and 10th house synastry and to some extent water! Mars in a fire house might love a lot of 5th/9th/1st house!

•the signs your personal planets fall in are also important! For ex: a Aquarius moon might like mercury aspects and venus aspects in synastry or even Saturn. Or someone falling in their 11th/3rd/7th Houses.

•SYNASTRY IS FELT BOTH WAYS. House person feels it as if they were the planet and planet person feels it as if they were the sign itself! Both parties and how they react to one another depends on if they like one another, the nature of the relationship and wether or not they’re comfortable with the themes associated with the house overlay in question! So if one of you is more Plutonian and the other is more airy you’re going to feel that 8th house overlay differently from one another but you’re both still feeling it.

Composite mars in the 3rd moving to the 2nd house I’m progressed shows that you’re growing to be more patient with one another as well as putting more value into security and comfort with one another! The majority of people are not fully aware of how truly difficult and confusing a spiritual awakening can be. It is not beautiful in the beginning.. As with all transformations, the first steps deal with endings and destruction. We are constantly lead to experience challenges, changes, and forces of nature that completely strip apart our attachments to the material world without even realizing it is happening. Every time our ego fights back, we are met with karmic patterns of the lesson the universe, or higher power, is attempting to teach us. It is important to remember that we are souls inhabiting human bodies. 

Our energy is ever lasting but this material world we know is not promised a forever. We are constantly working towards spiritual growth and evolution. A spiritual awakening occurs when you realize there is more to life than earthly desires. There is more to us than our attachments, our ego, and our material possessions. Once you realize this, things begin to change, as you will perceive the world in an entirely different way than you did before. At first, you will feel overwhelmed and confused. A lot of people remain in the beginning phases of a spiritual awakening out of fear. Listed below are the major signs you are experiencing an awakening of the soul.
