Was explaining some gender things to a straight cis friend today vis a vis gender presentation VS gender identity when it suddenly dawned on me with much the same horror as getting to work and realizing you left the stove on, that unless you've been immersed in a queer culture for some time you'd have no way of knowing that appearing androgynous/indeterminate/wildly gender-nonconforming is HOT

Friend of mine at work was expressing frustration at not knowing someone's gender on sight and I had to find a way to gently tell them that thirty of my closest friends regularly leave the house thinking "boy I hope someone has to fucking take a guess today" without sounding like it was all a huge prank

in conversation about white people who go to Japan and expect their knowledge of anime to culturally carry them, I was once posed with “it’s like if there was a Japanese guy who was obsessed with spongebob and came over here and thought he could get by just communicating in spongebob quotes.” This is a false equivalence because if such a man existed we would crown him king. We’d love him. Americans would fucking love that. sometimes I get sad that this isn’t a real guy I can invite to a party.

I would really just suggest some powder foundation, concealer, mascara and lipgloss/lipstick, or tbh just mascara works too, but that’s up to you

I’m sorry if I didn’t express this clearly enough in the original post but I’m not really looking for more concise makeup regiments. my intention was to point out how it’s Bad that makeup is considered a bare minimum at all, regardless of individual feelings on the matter

Really the only makeup you need is eyeliner but that’s just my personal opinion

on an amtrak when a buncha cis ppl one seat behind me started gushing about "the harry potter experience" and going to london to see all the potter stuff and the hogwarts express and i turn to my girlfriend and project my voice juuuust enough and say "hey did u hear jk rowling was in the epstein files? :)" and start yammering about her and i hear them all shut up reallll quick. i kept going for some time, loudly but enthusiastically conversing with my girlfriend about a topic of some interest to me no matter how uncomfortable it made them. much like some other ppl on this train
