What gets me is Maul’s devastation and promise to himself during his breakdown over Sidious:

Darth Maul, Sith Lord, crime lord, scorned ex-apprentice to the singular most powerful being in the galaxy, so committed to vengeance that he kept his bisected torso alive for a decade in an on-fire trash pit through nothing but shear force-of-will, doesn’t remember his birth name, first guy we ever saw to use a double bladed lightsaber, born on a planet where magic and witchcraft form part of everyday life, who had his sanity and first bi-pedal prosthetic legs given to him by The Supreme Mega Witch of his home planet using unexplainable green inter-galactic witch magic that can also make actual ZOMBIES, whose ONE goal was to kill the Jedi who took his legs and took his fate,,, now living in a world where his ex-master, the most powerful being in the galaxy and the physical manifestation of evil incarnate, has totally taken control of said galaxy and has also presumably killed the one Jedi he dedicated his life’s purpose to hunting, thereby leaving him aimless and disconnected and questioning of his place in the grand scheme of it all …. and we. are spendING. MORE TIME.
