Hiii! I'm curious, how do you manage amnesia, if you're comfortable answering? Does it ever spiral out of control?

Howdy! That’s something we’ve actually been still figuring out recently. As many systems know, amnesia can be less visible then losing days at a time. Ours is more like experiencing a certain amount of time and then the next headmate who fronts can remember what happened but only in pieces and more like something that happened to someone else than something that happened to them.
In terms of managing this version of amnesia we mostly do two things.
One is that we have a task list app that has the same tasks everyday so we don’t forget to do any of the things we need to do everyday. This works for us because we are a bit addicted to our phone and so we often get in the habit of opening apps when we’re bored so whoever is fronting will usually do that and then see what we still have to do!
The second method we use is more for recording headmates since if we don’t we typically forget they exist. Basically we use the notes app on our phone and leave whatever message about a headmate we need to send over to the next headmate as the first page seen when they open the phone! Then they will record it in our PluralSpace. Because of our front blocks it’s pretty hard for a headmate to send to the front a reminder that they exist so we need to write down their information as soon as we discover them so we don’t forget about them!
Right now the only times we’ve seen our amnesia get worse is when we have a chronic illness flare up, or when a headmate from way back in headspace fronts for the first time in a while. However, there is a group of fragments (self-titled as such) that are front-stuck and who help whoever is fronting with memory recollection!
Apologies this turned out to be so long, system/plural functions are a special interest of ours so your question got me monologuing lol

You all are amazing and beautiful people and beings and you deserve to have happiness and peace in your lives just like every other system!
I actually have a request for you today and that is please do something extra kind for yourself and your headmates if you can!
Some potential kind activities:
- playing your favorite video game or even trying out a new one! (One that we’ve been waiting for has finally come out so we’ve been playing lots of that recently)
- read that book you’ve been procrastinating starting
- go outside for a few minutes if you’ve been in your living place all day
- make a piece of art that’s just for your system or for you!
- rearrange the furniture in your room if you have one
- start that project that you’ve also been procrastinating working on (totally not targeted at my system lol)
- drink some water or other edible fluid!
- take a nice long nap if you can
I give you all a big hug/high five/head nod (depending on your level of comfort with physical touch) and I want to tell you once more that you are strong and brave people but also that you deserve rest and relaxation too!
