In Banksy’s Balloon Girl, innocence is lost Innocence is lost after being sold, after being given away The girl once held a colorful balloon, that was innocence Overtime she lets go of it, she is forced to let go of it The colorful balloon is forced away from her The colorful balloon was innocence We all had it but it is forced away from us overtime

The painting is depicted everywhere but over time it goes away The murals in London are gone, the signed copy is shredded The girl pushed through without innocence but was killed in the end Through forceful death by street cleaners or through suicide Those voices that tell us what we lack get to us They are always there but we only noticed them when we lost the lens of innocence When our childish mind that protected us from them is gone There are no voices telling us to avoid them There are only voices telling us what we lack

So, I’m a huge history nerd and I just randomly thought that the colonization of the Earth is very similar to colonization of America by Great Britain. This is going to sound super dumb but who cares. 

First, Pink Diamond was the last of the four diamonds to get a colony while Great Britain was the last of the Four Superpowers to get a colony (France, Great Britain, Portugal, and Spain). Of course it was not just given to Great Britain unlike how Earth was given to Pink Diamond. 

Second, America eventually led a rebellion and broke off of Great Britain which was the first colony to declare independence from its mother country kind of like how Earth was the first gem colony to rebel against Homeworld.. Of course it was not secretly led by one of the rulers like in Steven Universe. 

Third, the war of American Independence completely turned Europe upside down with the French Revolution of 1789 starting which led to almost every other revolution and war in Europe since. The Earth Rebellion completely destroyed Homeworld as we saw in “Legs from Here to Homeworld” and depleted all of its resources which led to the creation of Era 2.
