Often when i pray for things they become true its a little scary bc sometimes i feel like it moves ne further from god i start to pray less when im more content.

Even in the Bible, this cycle shows up constantly. The Israelites would cry out to God in need, experience deliverance, then grow comfortable and spiritually complacent.

I wonder if how i feel about it now, retrospectively, is guilt or independence. It feels like fear and a bit of both.

Another thing is that historically, there is a noticeable pattern where societies tend to become more religious during instability and less during prosperity. it’s definitely more nuanced than “hard times = faith” and “wealth = secular” but something i am conscious of.

Even during post cold war religion was on a decline when America was experiencing a financial boom even though governments were pushing religion to seperate themselves from the Soviet Union.

Literally have no idea what this means but its just weird how this is a global societal phenomenon & also a person spiritual struggle lol.

I dated a mormon guy a little while back, and when he (basically) cheated on me he wrote me a rap to apologise & it was sooo funny omdays it was over two minutes long and one of the lines was l: “i dont know what i was thinking, i dont know what i was drinking … well it was sprite but yk what i mean”

I listen to it every now and then and i either laugh or cry
