@hornpipefeet it’s actually not spotting cause i do it so quickly idk how to explain it but no i’ve never been marked down, but i know friends who do spot and they get marked down !

Hey fellow full time working senior ladies, ( @glitzjigsandsass , @just-duff-it , @firishdancer , @turntheblanket and anyone/everyone else!) Just curious as to whether any senior ladies out there with desk jobs could lend any advice about how to have it not adversely affect dance. I’ve heard it’s not great for athletes of any sort (or even just people in general) to sit for that long. Did you find it affected you in any way? Do you do anything to combat it? Anything smart I should know from the get go? I really appreciate it!

I try to get up and walk around as much as possible. instead of calling or paging someone I go to find them instead, and walk around to ask if anyone else needs help with things just to stay moving. sometimes I’ll just choose to stand instead of sitting and move my legs around in place. I make sure that I’m always eating healthy and drinking lots of water. I can tell the days I’ve sat too much as my legs feel stiff and don’t move as easily and it’s super frustrating. I try not to sit when I get home and move around my house as well before I leave for class to get the blood flowing. hope that helps a bit ! :)

I coach gymnastics so luckily I move around for most of my day, but myself and some other staff members use Balance Ball chairs for when we have office hours. They're supposed to be really great for your posture and alignment and they help reduce nerve compression and some other stuff and I love mine! Other than that I RT what Meg said ☝️
