It’s summer and I have been trying to build a shopping district in the Sims 2. But I have trouble figuring out the layout of a specific building. It looks like this:

The furniture is random. I don’t know how to have two rooms without it feeling constrictive. It has two fronts. They both have a view to parks. The windows are only going to be on the fronts of the building, not the sides.

These lots were made with the UC installed.
If you don't have all the EPs/SPs (or at least AL/M&G as your highest one,) you prolly can't use these! (I provided links below, for similar "empty lot" collections - some of them don't need all EP/SPs.)
ALL possible lot sizes are included (within the game's original size limit of 6X6) - including Beach lots.
These are perfectly flat lots (well, all except for the beach lots...)
These were made on Lush Terrain, but that doesn't really matter anymore. Whatever terrain you put them down on (Desert, Dirt, Lush, or Cement) the game will change the lot's "base terrain" to match.
The Sun is oriented to the front of the lot.
Lots are shrunk/expanded with Moo's Lot-Adjuster
Lots are cleaned/compressed with Chris Hatch's Lot Compressor.

The lots can be found at the END of your LotBin catalog.
There is No CC used in these empty lots.
To INSTALL:
Unzip the "New Empty Lots" folder.
Open it and move (or copy/paste) the 32 files into your LotCatalog (Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\LotCatalog).
Find the lots by scrolling to the end of your Lot Bin the next time you are in your Neighborhood.
To make them PERMANENT - so they are in your catalog whenever you start a new game - put them here:

- If you want them toward the end of your LotBin, put them in the base game folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Double Deluxe\Base\TSData\Res\UserData\LotCatalog

80 recolors of 3t2 The Royales Window, done in collaboration with @funphumph. Yes, too many recolors, but they are of 3 different types, as I explain in detail below. Download link, notes and swatch are under the cut.

Recommended: Make sure to get the complete Hacienda Luxury build set by misty-fluff: [windows] // [door and arch]
Context:
Originally converted in 2013, this window was reworked and re-released by @funphumph/misty-fluff in 2022, with the other windows from the Hacienda Luxury set. In 2024, she also re-released the matching door and arch, but while the recolors made for the door had a stone frame, the ones made for the window only used wooden textures. Wanting matching stone recolors for the frame of the window, I managed to get the texture image originally made by EA for TS3. And finally, when I asked misty-fluff if she wanted to collaborate by making more stone-textured recolors of the window to match her door, she kindly accepted.
Here's what you get:
7 STONE-TEXTURE recolors of the FRAME SUBSET (1st picture above), matching 7 of the 14 recolors made for the door. In addition to the original stone texture made by EA for TS3, we chose 6 more that we thought most players were most likely to use, all provided by @funphumph.
3 WOODEN-TEXTURE recolors (3rd picture) of BOTH SUBSETS of the mesh, frame and muntins (the bars of the inner part of the window). Because misty-fluff reworked the window and the door for different projects, over a year and a half apart from each other, not all of the recolors she made for them match. These 3 new recolors match the "blackwood", "dark" and "whitewood" recolors of the Pedro Estate door.
70 HALF-STONE, HALF-WOOD recolors of the FRAME SUBSET (2nd picture), combining each of the 7 types of stone with each of the 10 types of wood (the 3 shared now + the 7 that misty-fluff originally made for the window). While working on that first stone-texture recolor of the frame, I found out that only the left side of the full texture image is applied to the outside of the window. That means that in addition to having separate subsets for the frame and the muntins, we get an "extra" subset for the frame, allowing to have the exterior match the frame of the front door, without losing options for the interior decoration your buildings.
With so many recolors, won't it be hard to navigate the Design Tool menu in Buy Mode?
Personally, I don't think so — or not as much as I thought it'd be. Only the frame subset is getting all of these recolors, while the other subset has merely 10, very manageable options. And even then, it's not too hard to see what color of stone you're picking while browsing for the recolor you want for the frame.
"That's still too many recolors, and I don't want to keep them all"
I agree, and I'm not keeping them all either. That's why each file follows a naming convention to show which textures were used and what type of recoloring it is: [Creators]_[Object]_REC_[TypeOfRecolor]_[Texture]
So the recolor of the frame that only uses the texture of rough grey stone is named: "[...]_REC_FullFrame_StoneRoughGrey.package".
Similarly, the file for a half-stone, half-wood recolor contains the name of both textures used, like this: "[...]_REC_HalfFrame_RoughGrey_WoodWhite.package"
If you don't want a certain type of stone or wood, simply delete the files that contain the name of that texture.
Swatches
To make things easier, below you can see a swatch of each of the textures used. However, you might still want to check them in-game before deciding what to delete, if only to have a better impression of what they look like on the window, especially the ones that might look too similar in the swatches. Click the pictures to enlarge them.
And why would anyone reasonably think to make 80 recolors of a single window for a 20-year-old game?
👍🏻Thank you for doing such an extensive recoloring work and in addition giving such a precise description of what you did and how to proceed with so many files! I guess this window doesn't need any more recolors anytime soon. :)
By the way, every window in the Sims 3 game that has bars or grids has four override options (north frame, south frame, north bars, south bars). If only the Sims 2 with its only two options wouldn't force us to decide which parts of the window we want to group together. (>ᴗ•) !

I really needed new community clothing racks so here are some more !
They use some clothes from TS4 Dream Home Decorator, with the BG cheap rack, and OFB hangers from the rack’s empty state. Animated, have an empty state, and two of them are repo’d to the first one. All original TS4 textures merged with the master file. From 1600 to 2400 polys.
This is a 4to2 conversion from Icemunmun, low poly. It also contains soup from Season of Soups. It's a small kitchen appliance that sims can use to prepare delicious Veggie and Non-Veggie Soup (21 recipes). Also children can use it. Comes in 8 colors.

While browsing through the Sims 3 store in search of pretty unconverted things to convert, the 3-tile 'Arch With a View' from the 'Last Venue of Amore' set caught my eyes and I noticed that the ivy framing the arch looked very similar to that of the 'Brunch at the Old Mill' set. I took a look at the mapping and realized that I was right. Maxis recycled the brunch ivy to decorate the amore arch.
So I converted this beautiful piece of craftsmanship and once more slaved the ivy to the master file of Veranka's ivy set to being able to adorn the wall next to the arch with matching ivy. And again, I added Veranka's whole set to the download folder for your convenience. Check out Veranka's LiveJournal post linked above nonetheless.
Being an arch by nature, the Sims will walk through its railing unless you use the "lock door for all Sims" command on it. In order to have an ivy-framed arch that can be marched through, I made an additional version without railing and flower boxes and slaved it to the railed one.
Last but not least, there are no diagonal versions of the arches because my attempts at making them failed. If somebody happens to know of a creator who managed to make a 3-tile diagonal arch, feel free to give me a link and I will use their file as a guidance to make my own. ;)

Would you like to help archive player-made Sims custom content and mods for a non-profit? Even become an archive admin?
Hi guys, I’ve got some really big news! Several weeks ago I mentioned how I thought that there should be a way to archive Sims content long term. While I know that there have been several attempts to archive fan-works they’ve been fraught with problems. As I’m sure you know, servers can be expensive and it’s difficult to keep them online. Sites like Sims2graveyard are good but they have the additional issue of going down themselves and only host certain kinds of content (only Custom Content for one game).
That post led me down quite a rabbit trail. After discussing the idea with some friends on a discord server I decided to send an email to The Internet Archive to request a collection. After that request I was approved and given a collection. For those of you who aren’t familiar with IA, The Internet Archive (the creator of the WayBackMachine) is a non-profit organization that hosts all sorts of data and is sponsored by The Library of Congress and Google among many others.
After creating the Sim Archive Project I got in contact with Don Hopkins (Yes, like programmer for The Sims! THAT Don Hopkins!) and talked to him about how deeply he cared for the community and their creations. He was also nice enough to make a video of the 1998 version of The Sims and also recommend some books about the history of the culture and history around video game modding.
While this is all very exciting I need your help. While I’ve been doing work to try and upload as much content to the archive as possible there’s just no way I can do all of it. While I have a group of admins who work with me to expedite the process, it’s still quite the endeavor.
If you have any old content that you want archived long term in a safe place, upload the content and a screenshot of content to the Internet Archive and send me a link to your Items by sending me an ask. It will take a while for your items to show up in the Sim Archive Project Collection. Also please remember, while files can be downloaded from the archive it should be used only as a backup service rather than your sole file service. This archive is meant to be a way to preserve files rather than just share them. We’d like to save as much notable content as we can for all of the games.

4t2 High School Years Corkboard textures on @tony-veis Job Seeking Board
This works like MogHughson’s job seeking board and can be used to give your Sims any career. Sims wont use it autonomously so it can still be used as deco. 8 recolors, I used the conversion by @neosimi to extract the textures. Mesh is included (mesh has the original 3 textures bundled in it) and the object is found in Misc-> Misc
This is an edit I made of the sims 4 windowbox, its significantly smaller and I’ve recolored the flowers in some nice pretty colors. It has two subsets so you can mix and match the flowers with the box however you want :)
Both sets include meshes the height of a foundation, half wall and full wall. An extra tall pillar (foundation + full wall) is also included, as well as a slightly thicker ‘pillar base’ which can be overlaid on one of the others. The wall pieces, designed to add volume to buildings, come in two widths. The three items with the height of a full wall function as columns.
The items can be found in Build mode under Architecture, and therefore require Mansions&Gardens. Their costs varies between 10$ and 30$ depending on the height.
They are texture repositoried to BuggyBooz’s Nooks and Niches set. Its master mesh is included in the download.

I absolutely fell in love with @myshunosun's beautiful, beautiful Moonwood Garden set when I first saw it, and having converted one whole object recently, I figured, hey, why not? 😂 Let's just say I learned a lot along the way (like that slots really are little bastards).
There are 12 objects with varying numbers of recolors. The original set came with 13, but I was unable to make the floral arranging table functional (I tried, believe me, but it's just beyond my skills at the moment), so there's only the decorative version.
Here's a breakdown of everything included (if you'd like to see the individual meshes, please check out myshunosun's post linked above, she has lovely isolated previews of everything):
The table has 5 slots (only on the top surface; you'll need to use OMSPs or @lamare-sims' Shiftable Everything to use the lower shelves), the ladder shelf has 3, the 4-tile planter has 4 and the 2-tile planters has 2. Some plants look better than others in the planters; you can also place plants first and then place the planters over them with moveObjects on for fuller garden beds. The single bag of soil is repo'd to the double bags.
I only swatched the wood, doing everything wasn't really practical here. There is a numbered version included with the download:
