OpenSO is a revival of FreeSO, a fan-hosted recreation of The Sims Online, upgraded with a modern foundation:
Runs on .NET 10 LTS with the latest MonoGame. GitHub Actions automatically builds client, server, and updated shaders for all platforms.
A C# launcher replacing the old Electron one, with an integrated patcher and self-updater.
Replaced the Mina.NET dependency with a rewritten networking and buffer stack supporting TLS end-to-end encryption.
Updated rendering pipeline: dynamic frame rates >60FPS, resolution scaling, new AA options, and optional post-processing effects for 3D mode.
New features: rebuilt Create-A-Sim with zoom & rotation plus larger icons; edit your Sim's gender, appearance, and skintone at any time from the Select-A-Sim menu; a Social Bunny NPC who shows up to help your Social need when your Sim is alone. π°
Fixed long-standing nitpicks, like the window scaling/mouse glitch.

OpenSO is early in development, so things may break or be rough around the edges. Expect frequent updates.
Player feedback will be crucial in shaping the game's direction. Once the foundation is tested under a real player load, the beta release can shift focus to new content & gameplay changes while staying faithful to the original game β as well as events, documentation, tools, and quality-of-life features.
The alpha provides starting funds of $100k to begin building. The testing world, Genesis, will be wiped for the public beta.

The bed mattress pulls textures from Jonesi's blanket, the box part of the bed, the shelf, and the privacy screen pull textures from the AL Dance-Off Break Dancer Mat. These are clones with new guids, they wont conflict with the originals. I also turned MLC's 2 plain cardboard textures into recolors for the break dance mat
@simborg made a teen mesh for their medieval recolors so I made recolors using the 4t2 textures, there are 7 of them. TM are repo'd to the original AM files which are included. Set as Everyday, Gym, PJ, & Maternity
CarWreck now pulls textures from the NL Smoogo car, it's different from the CycloneSue mesh I repo'd a while ago. JunkStove repo'd to the BG urinal and Cio Time stove. TireFlowers repo'd to the BG Daisies of our Lives, the tire couldn't be repo'd but it looks like they used the one from the NL Smord truck and it could probably be repo'd if someone remapped it for me. The car and urinal/stove are found in Deco-Sculpture, the tire flowers are found in Deco-Plants

It now pulls textures from the Resteze toilet and deco Sunflowers. Found in Deco-Misc for $50 (I tried to move it to plants but it disappeared from the catalog so I had to keep it in Misc)
hey Cree! I found this alt version of the bay window from mansion and gardens in an old japanese forum. it's pretty similar to the og window, but it has wider windows and thinner frames. The trouble is that it isn't recolorable,and not repod either ofc. could you make it repod and recolorable, and turn the recolor that comes with it into a recolor og the of window, please? Sorry but windows and doors don't work with the Repository Wizard, they're complicated because they need a wall mask to cut a hole in the wall. You could try asking Shasta, she's done some repo'd windows
