Common Russian words that are pronounced not the way you think
(At least in Standard Russian)

Здрáвствуйте (Hello) — well, I guess you know this one but anyway: it’s /ˈzdrastvʊjtʲe/. The «в» is not pronounced in less formal «здравствуй» either. Also, in colloquial speech we often simply say «здрaсьте» (/ˈzdrasʲtʲe/).
Конéчно (Of course) — /kɐˈnʲeʂnə/ (as if spelled «канешна»). !Only for the meaning «of course», «certainly»! In any other case the root -конеч- must be pronounced as /kɐˈnʲet͡ɕ/ («канéч»).
Пожáлуйста (Please) — /pɐˈʐalʊstə/ («пажáлуста»).
Сейчáс (Now) — /sʲɪˈt͡ɕas/ («сичáс»). Colloquial: /ɕːas/ («щас»).
Чу’вство (Feeling) — /ˈt͡ɕustvə/ («чу’ства»), again dropping the «в», as well as in other words sharing this stem (чувств) — бесчувственный, сочувствовать.
Бог (God) — /box/ («бох») but the exception occurs only in the nominative singular (боги, богом etc. are pronounced by the rules).
Сóлнце (Sun) — /ˈsont͡sə/ («сóнце»), the «л» is dropped, which is a case for its cognate words as well UNLESS the first syllable is stressed: there is an «л» in сóлнышко, сóлнечный; in солнцестоя’ние there isn’t. *You’ll still be understood even if you don’t say it like this — many Russians nowadays pronounce all the «л»-s here.
Сéрдце (Heart) — /ˈsʲert͡sə/ («сéрце»). So yeah, when you see 3+ consonants after a stressed vowel, you can sometimes omit the first one.
Мужчи’на (Man) — /mʊˈɕːinə/ («мущи’на»). If you know about consonant clusters voicing, you might think that it has to be something like /mʊˈʂt͡ɕːinə/ («мушчи’на») because of the voiceless ч that turns the ж into a ш (as in мужской). It probably used to be so but now it isn’t anymore. Why? I know native speakers who suppose that the word for «woman» (женщина), which is pronounced /ˈʐɛnʲɕːɪnə/, could have played a role.
