but I got to say that there's a certain poetic vibe in the fact that two Spanish speaking countries reached the final in a world cup where interviews in Spanish weren't allowed lmao

"It would be so cool to be able to squeeze through extremely small gaps unharmed"
"Hey OP, it's actually completely possible to squeeze through extremely small gaps, it happens sometimes in industrial accidents"
"Unharmed?"
"What? Of course not, why would you expect me to account for a word all the way at the end of the sentence?"
"Waah waah but what if I don't like it when my intended-as-apolitical work gets analysed and people start claiming it has reactionary politics" so this can be avoided by developing a better understanding of politics
My hot take: it wouldnt be fatphobic to declare that you dont want to sleep with fat women bc sex is not political activism and bodies are not public resources
no this kind of thinking lets so much bigotry fly because people don't just declare things out loud for no reason, even if they happen to be true. like if you really just don't want to sleep with a particular minority group then what is your motivation for declaring this out loud? your reason is obviously not just "I have a fact about myself to share for no reason at all"
Here's a chibi Tenna plush with a little flower! I attached a bit of wire to the flower to make it removable

Orange!!
I have this idea for a video game called Are You Out There? where two players control two different alien civilizations and the goal of the game is to invent spaceflight and then manage to find one another in a ginormous universe. You can try to leave signs for each other to find, or send out probes and radio waves, or colonize many systems so you're a bigger target, but its hard because the universe is really big.
Idk just a thought.
Started using the phrase “that’s cilantro to me” to refer to the presence of a story element that completely ruins a piece of media for me, disproportionate to its actual badness.
hi this drives me crazy
canon is what happens in the text. e.g. merlin tries to poison morgana
a headcanon is a fact that you have personally made up as an elaboration of canon. it is your invention. e.g. i think morgana and gwen had a teenage lesbian situationship before the events of canon. or, i think modern morgana would love evanesence.
an interpretation is how one reads the existing text. it is not an invented fact nor is it a headcanon, it is a reading. e.g. i think merlin tries to poison morgana out of misplaced self-hatred. or, i think that one line was delivered with suppressed malice and shows a nuanced relationship.
fanon is the general fandom’s accepted headcanons and interpretations that elaborate or recontextualize canon. e.g. merlin is a badass waif and morgana is a bitch.
these are all different words with different meanings.
i actually think it's scary that we seem to be forgetting what regular human beings look like and that in some cases it's being deliberately accelerated by incels and their esoteric mythology of appearance now that they have the cultural microphone. it's scary that i can watch a movie from like 1991 and be like "oh if this woman was cast as a leading lady today it'd be a culture war outrage session about ugly women being shoved in our faces"

It's wild to watch the phrase "tumblr sexyman" morph into "man that tumblr thinks is sexy," because when I first saw the phrase come into use, I always saw it used in reference to the phenomenon of "when presented with a wide array of fictional characters, tumblr will always pick the skinny white man to obsess over, and if the fan-favorite character has no canonical human appearance, the fandom will inevitably create a popular fanon of the character as as a skinny white man."
When I hear "tumblr sexyman," I think of Cecil Night Vale being constantly depicted as a skinny white man instead of literally anything else. I think of the background character white men who get elevated over protagonists that are women, people of color, or otherwise not the white man power fantasy.
"Tumblr sexyman" is, like. An insult. I DON'T want any of my blorbos to win a "tumblr sexyman" poll. "Tumblr sexyman" is the exact opposite of what I want my own OCs to be. If any of my characters ever get called "tumblr sexyman," I will have to immediately re-evaluate myself and the art I'm making.
Things I think of when I hear "tumblr sexyman":
Cecil Night Vale, as previously mentioned.
Oncelercest, because if there aren't two skinny white men to ship, tumblr fandom will start shipping the skinny white man with himself.
Bill Cipher inexplicably being fanon'd as a white twink despite being a fucking triangle.
Everyone fawning over Marvel Loki while shoving every woman and Black person in the MCU aside.
The way nearly every single character in Hazbin Hotel has the same "tall and skinny" body type, along with all the criticisms Black audience members have made about the issues with Alastor's design.
The way tumblr got obsessed with the white man villain in Sinners.
it's always "what were you doing at the devil's sacrament?" and never "how was the devil's sacrament? did you have a good time?"
