I’d like to add this photo I took last night in Victoria of the statue of Captain Cook. Though I myself am not indigenous, I 100% agree that these murderers, kidnappers and rapists shouldn’t have huge statues and plaques that decorate them and say how “great” they were.

I went to a “Cancel Canada Day” event and burst into tears - not because I was surprised to learn of the unmarked graves (survivors told us they were there. Our government pushed it aside, and we let them), but because seeing all the people gathered in mourning drove it home: They. Were. Children.

This is my country’s legacy - and it’s not history. The last schools closed during my lifetime. My Father went to school with students who lived at the local residential school, after it was changed to a boarding house (read: holding centre) for indigenous youth who went to local schools.

I don’t need to be trans and also have to fit any “trans aesthetics” that people have ingrained in their minds. ESPECIALLY people on tiktok who think they’re entitled to be transphobic just because someone who is trans does not wish to medically transition

Like,,, on top of it being expensive in multiple countries INCLUDING America, there’s just. Going to be trans folk who aren’t dysmorphic or dysphoric. There’s going to be trans folk who might want top surgery, but will choose not to have bottom surgery, and vice versa. There’s people who will want surgery and not want to get on HRT!!! I just really wished this part of being transgender was… talked about more? But then you’d have transmeds, and all of those other people in your space, telling you bs. Why can’t we all just support each other

You don’t need to feel dysphoria or dysmorphia to be trans. You don’t need to dress up femininely, masculine, or androgynously just fit into criteria that others push onto you just because “it fits best”. Be a man, wear a skirt and high heels, wear makeup, be a woman and dress up like a man!!! Be androgynous and WEAR DRESSES!!! Be transgender and not defined by a social construct of gender, but rather what you feel most comfortable in. Be yourself
