Ishigaki: *dreams about midousuji naked*

It takes Ishigaki a few minutes of slow blinking and stretching his hand across the futon mattress to realize that Midousuji is gone. This is not, in and of itself, an abnormal phenomenon, but something about the cold sheets beside him makes his stomach tighten with unease.

Midousuji staying the night at his house is not something that happens often and Ishigaki tends to treasure every shred of time he gets with Midousuji that is one-on-one and private away from the rest of the world. His parents let Midousuji come over whenever he wants as a result.

This has not happened before, at least not here, and Ishigaki pushes himself up into a sitting position, dragging a hand through his hair and telling himself to take deep, slow breaths to keep from panicking. There have been nights where Midousuji vanishes early on to take a ride on his bike, and Ishigaki can only imagine what would cause him to do such a thing though he has inklings that he knows even if he never wants to think too hard about them. Tonight, he might have to. The thought of Midousuji out on the streets at half past three in the morning is a terrifying one and he knows his neighborhood is relatively safe but he the thought that something could happen to Midousuji chokes him out of his reason and logic right now.

The house is still quiet but Ishigaki still tells himself to check every room as he pulls a t-shirt on over his head, reaches for the shorts he had tossed aside before climbing into bed with Midousuji hours ago. When he wants to, Midousuji can fold all of his long limbs and his body into a small, compact bundle, wedge himself into nooks and crannies that look painfully small and generally make himself as impossible to find as he can. Not out of choice so much as necessity, as need, as fear that wracks his body and makes him seek out a hiding place.
