you're inside a waking dream
before dismissing that statement, consider this: everything you know about the world is known through experience.
the room you’re in is an experience.
the thoughts in your mind are experiences.
your memories, imagination, emotions, and perceptions are all experiences.
you never step outside of experience to verify reality from some separate position. everything is encountered through awareness.
this is why some people compare life to a waking dream. not because the world is unreal, but because everything you know about it appears as experience in the same way a dream appears as experience.
the difference is that one is called “dreaming” and the other is called “waking.” which both are known in awareness.

why you feel "stuck"
one realization that completely changed the way i viewed “being stuck” is this:
you never actually experience stuckness.
what you experience are thoughts about being stuck.
think about it... the weather changes, your mood changes, your body changes, your interests change, your beliefs change, your cells literally regenerate.
even the person you were five minutes ago only exists as a memory appearing now.
so where exactly is the thing that is stuck?
most of the time, what people call being stuck is comparing the present moment to an imagined version of how they think things should be.
“i should have shifted by now. “i should have manifested it already.”
and then the mind repeats that story so often that it starts to feel like a fact.
but if you stop and look at your direct experience, life is moving constantly. it’s like standing in a river and claiming the water isn’t flowing because you haven’t reached the destination you imagined.
even the feeling of frustration is movement.
even the feeling of waiting is movement.
even the feeling of being stuck is something that appears, changes, and disappears.
the irony is that the moment you truly investigate stuckness, you can’t actually find it.
you only find life unfolding.
you only find experience changing.
you only find awareness noticing it all.
and that is anything but stuck. 🤍
After you’ve realized that you were never lacking anything to began with, “life” feels very different. I can see how people can get wrapped up in the appearances of it all, as I once also did.

you are everything everywhere all at once!
one way i’ve started to understand awareness is through the idea from EEAO. in the movie, there’s this sense that all possibilities, all versions, all experiences are happening in some kind of unified field at once — different lives, different outcomes, different realities.
and while that’s a fictional story, it actually points to something interesting in experience.
because in your direct awareness, you can already “access” everything in a similar way:
you can think of a memory → it appears.
you can imagine a completely different version of your life → it appears.
you can picture your desired reality → it appears.
you can return to the present moment → it appears.
all of these are experienced within the same awareness, without any physical movement from one place to another.
there is no moment where awareness travels to reach them.
they simply show up and are known.
this is why the idea of being “everywhere all at once” can make sense in a different way than physical location. not that your body is literally everywhere, but that everything you can ever experience is already being known in the same awareness right now. and just like in the movie where everything exists simultaneously, your entire range of experience past, present, imagined, desired is always appearing in the same place awareness itself.
life is exactly like The Sims
things can happen, moods shift, circumstances pop up, and for a second the mind reacts like it’s all serious and fixed. but when you actually look closely, nothing really stays the same.
a “problem” appears, then changes form.
a feeling hits, then passes.
something that felt intense yesterday can feel completely different tomorrow.
it’s all just experience moving.
and in the middle of it, there’s this quiet awareness that’s just noticing it all without getting pulled into the drama of it.
and what’s even more interesting is this idea that your “reality” isn’t fully rigid either.
you can customize your appearance, change your world, adjust the settings, add new creations, switch up the story, even install “mods” that completely shift how the game feels, and even use cheats that let you bypass limitations and play however you want!
life feels similar in the sense that attention, belief, and imagination completely change how experience shows up. when you focus differently, when you see differently, when you feel differently… the whole “world” feels different too.
so even when life seems intense or fixed, it’s still unfolding moment by moment in awareness like something being experienced, adjusted, and reinterpreted as you go.
and somehow, you’re not just inside the experience
you’re also the awareness noticing it all happening. you’re not the character in the story... you’re the screen the story is appearing on
if every time you think about your DR is already a shift… when have you ever not been shifting? 🫣
what you are aware of is the proof that you’re not separate from it!
think about it for a moment...
a thought appears, and you are aware of it. an emotion appears, and you are aware of it. a desire appears, and you are aware of it. the world appears, and you are aware of it.
how could you be separate from something that is already being experienced?
people often imagine awareness as if it’s locked away somewhere inside a person, looking out at a distant world. but experience doesn’t actually happen that way. everything you know, whether it’s a memory, a dream, a sensation, a desire, or the physical world itself, is known in the same awareness. the moment something is experienced, it is no longer “over there.” it is already here as experience.
first there is experience. then the mind says, “that is outside of me” or “that is separate from me.”
but the direct experience itself never says that.
what you are aware of is already appearing within awareness, and that is why separation can never be anything more than an idea. the very fact that something is known is proof that it is not separate from the awareness that knows it.

the physical only seems powerful when you treat it as something separate from awareness
no one has free will in your awareness
you shift the moment awareness shifts
nothing you feel is who you are
what you are aware of is the proof that you're not separate from jt

trust that everything will fall into place without you forcing it there.
When people say "focus on the pure now," what do they mean?
when people say “focus on the pure now,” they usually mean noticing what is here before you start labeling, judging, or thinking about it.
not the “now” as a concept, but the direct experience of being aware right now.
it’s not really about forcing yourself to stay in the present moment. it’s more about recognizing that thoughts about the past and future are also appearing now.
so the “pure now” is simply this immediate awareness before the mind turns it into a story

the 5 senses are more limited than you think. the world we "see" is not what the world actually is. it is what the mind perceives which is not the same as the reality of the world.
some examples:
"the sky looks blue, but air is colorless"
when you watch a video, it is actually a series of still images projected on a screen, 30 images per second
when you watch the sunset it seems as if the sun is moving down and "setting" but really "the horizon moves up as the earth turns on its axis"
science proves that "you can only perceive a minute fraction of what actually exists" -> "a dog can sniff and differentiate 50 times more smells than you can. your ears can hear only a narrow range of pitches. and you eyes can only see colors from red to violet."
"beyond those pitches and colors lies a vast range of sound and light that you simply cant perceive. the point is, because the range of your senses is so limited, you cant fully and accurately perceive the world around you. only a tiny part is accessible."
"appearances can be deceiving. its natural to believe that your five senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch give you an accurate representation of the world around you. but the fact is, your powers of perception are extremely limited. experiencing the world through your five senses is like looking through five little pinholes pierced in a heavy blanket covering your head."

the room your in is just a 3d representation of the room produced by the mind
because of how limited the 5 senses are, you arent able to accurately see the world
brain + 5 senses = inaccurate perception
"waking world" is based on senses (mind) and "dreaming world" is based on memories (mind) so both are created by the mind; they are imaginary; not real
if you had no senses, you would not know the difference between being awake and dreaming bc both are unreal

i don’t remember where i said that 😅 but what it means is that it’s not a literal “space” somewhere in the mind, it’s more pointing to the fact that thoughts are being noticed by being aware of them

nothing you feel is who you are
as someone who has mdd, i know how intense it can get when thoughts feel loud or everything feels distant and foggy, but none of it is you, it’s what’s being experienced within awareness, not something you are broken for having; you don’t have to fight every thought or force yourself to be okay to prove strength, sometimes it’s enough to simply notice “this is what is happening right now” and let it move at its own pace, and when people ask “but what if i still feel like this?” the answer isn’t to reject it or panic, but to allow that too to be here without adding a second layer of suffering on top of it, because even feeling stuck is still just another passing experience; nothing is wrong with you for feeling deeply or struggling to cope, nothing is missing in you even when everything feels unclear. you’re not broken, what you’re feeling won’t last forever, and underneath it all there’s still a steady awareness in you that notices everything as it comes and goes 🩶
how would one revise grades for college admissions :/
actually i’ve experienced revising my grades for college admissions too 💗
for me, it started with noticing thoughts like “i had bad grades, i’ll never get into this uni” and instead of accepting them, i would just recognize that it’s only a thought, not a fact about what’s possible
then i’d gently bring my focus back to what i do want to assume instead, like being accepted and already being in that college, rather than staying stuck in the old story!
