Nonbinary student corrects teacher who refuses to use correct pronouns in the most brilliant way
Over at tiktok a nonbinary student, Shade, told their professor why her refusal to use their correct pronouns was completely unacceptable. In an email they wrote:
Iâm sorry, I think there was a misunderstanding here.  You seem to think Iâm making some kind of request? I was just informing you of my correct name and pronouns so you know how to refer to me.
Intentionally misgendering a student is actively creating a hostile environment and discriminating on the basis of gender identity. That goes against the schoolâs nondiscrimination statement. I know you wouldnât want to do that.
Iâm sure you understand that I expect to be treated with at least basic levels of respect and human decency in the classroom. I look forward to meeting you in class next week and working with you through the semester. Regards, Shade (they/them)
Shade told local NBC affiliate KPVI-6 that the response to their videos has been âcrazy.â
LGBTQ Nation reports that Shade says that they are fighting so that other non-binary and trans students wonât have to go through the same thing:
âIâm less concerned with what happens between this individual teacher and myself and more concerned with what happens school-wide, because personally, I have support. Iâm not somebody who is going to be super broken up about it, but I know thatâs not the case for a lot of trans students. In fact, for a lot of trans students, it might be that school is the only place where they could possibly get gendered correctly.â
hi!! I got my first binder today and I just really wanted to share because I'm just so excited!! my gender euphoria has been through the roof today hgjfklkd;
Hi, uhhhhh how long is it reasonable to have to wait for insurance to ok top surgery?
this is usually dependent on things like your personal insurance company and the surgeon you are looking at, so i dont know. if you are worried or want to check i would recommend calling your insurance company
Could I get a pronoun validation? My name is Oliver, but I also go by Aura. My pronouns are he/him, it/its, and fae/faer. I'd like to also try out ey/em and maybe xe/xhr?
Oliver is a cool person. It likes to hang out with faer friends, even though ey canât right now. Aura is hoping to get to see xhr friends soon, so xe can try out these new pronouns

Hi, I was wondering if you could recommend any places to meet other enbies? I've been feeling really isolated and I don't know where to find other trans/enby people.
Sorry for so late of an answer, I didnât see this ask!
I recommend seeking out trans support groups in your area. You can start a search online (Facebook is, oddly enough, a great place to find groups like this) and see if any groups meet in person. Of course, I wonât recommend meeting in person until it is safe to do so, but you can see if people in these online groups are willing to have one on one conversations or participate in online events. If you cant find people online, you can consider starting a group yourself.
Other places to meet trans people are lgbt bars (obviously this provides an age restriction and it can be difficult to have conversations), lgbt resource offices at a nearby university (also can be age restricted at times), and trans-centered events in your area (which are usually politically fueled). I would recommend looking into all these options if you are willing and able, but you may have the most luck with finding trans groups online
hey đđź i want to let other transmasc people know about this great company called thinx! itâs basically an underwear brand that destroyed my dysphoria around shark week AND theyâre washable so they last a long time. you can wear them up to 9-ish hours with no leaks and no smell. i recommend the boyshorts because theyâre the boxer style đđź
use my link for $10 off your first purchase
https://thinx.club/d3377462
Thanks for referring a friend! Here's $10 off your first order of Speax, Thinx, or Thinx (BTWN). We can't wait for you to try them!
I use these too, and can vouch for them helping somewhat with dysphoria cause they do offer pairs with a more masculine cut, but Iâll also say if youâre a heavy bleeder then you will probably need to use a cup/tampon in addition to the underwear.
Pros: no leaks (without having to wear âwomenâsâ underwear with a pad) is a major plus. just knowing Iâm not gonna have to clean blood stains out of my bed in the morning is a relief
Cons: their tight fit (to prevent leaks) and having to still use cups/tampons can still feel upsetting ime; also theyâre a higher price than what many can afford. Similar to cups, itâs like an investment cause they last for a long time.

Hey Iâm kinda nervous writing this, but I donât really know where else to go to ask I guess?? I use and am comfortable with he/she/them pronouns, and I guess I donât necessarily feel a connection with gender but at the same time I do. Is there any articles or other tumblr accounts that talk about this?? I donât understand anything about it and itâs really stressful
i am unsure of anything to link you too, but i will say that its okay to feel lost right now. you may just have to do a lot of googling to try and find something similar to what you are describing. Many people use multiple pronouns, regardless of their actual gender.
As far as feeling both connected and disconnected from gender, that is also not as uncommon as you might think. I personally feel no connection to the gender binary but vaguely feel tied to manhood. There are many, many nuances to gender, even with how we describe it in western culture. Its okay that youre confused and unsure of how to talk about it. -Mod Jordan
Hi! Can you do a pronoun validation thingy for me? I'd like to be called Sterling, and I'd like to try out they/them and he/him pronouns (I'm nonbinary and my current defaults are she/her, although sometimes I don't feel fully comfortable with that so I'm doing some experimenting).
Sterling wants to try out new pronouns to see what theyâre comfortable with. He has an eevee for his icon on tumblr, and they probably like eeveelutions. You might assume that eevee is their favorite pokemon. I hope Sterling finds pronouns that work for them, and I wish him luck in figuring it out!
