hi hello and welcome to the thing no one asked for: AU where Jake and Amy do actually meet on the Manhattan Bridge but Jake thinks he’s on the Brooklyn Bridge which Amy just HAS to correct him on. They end up falling in love instead.

UuuuUUUUUUH okay lemme see lol these are messy but,

1) maybe like two weeks post vol. 2 they start sharing a bed just bc Bad Dreams. actually tbf the whole gang starts sharing a bed (peters bed, bc captain’s cabin has the biggest bunk) bc Bad Dreams and after a while drax and rocket and mantis go back to sleeping in their usual bunks but gamora stays. its Soft and v chill overall

2) whenever baby groot has bad dreams in general he crawls into their bed between them & snuggles up against the pillow. sleepy middle of the night “groots here again babe” domestic convos abound

3) probably they get married like idk threeish years later on some rando planet kind of on a whim bc like why the hell not they’ve been married for all intents and purposes thus far anyways. rocket hacks into the government mainframe and gets drax ordained so he can perform the ceremony, but peters never actually sure that it’s entirely legally binding

3 b) doesn’t matter, he has a dope ring hanging around his neck and he giggles happily like a dumbass everytime he looks down at it

4) uh,,,,, listen,,,,,,,, they have this killer dance routine okay. like after a while gamora is comfortable enough with Things and so they just. have the SICKEST moves. like straight up insane twirls and backflips stuff, esp when they’re a little bit drunk, even more esp when rocket and groot and drax are cheering them on from the club’s bar

5) tbh I rly think they’re that couple who are just so chill and comfortable with each other that most people don’t even realize they’re married until rockets like “yeah it’s frickin unbearable” ,,,,,, u know,,,,,, just that casualness that comes from cohabiting w someone u love for years,,,, okay anyways

6) they’re the Team Leaders, plural. this is known by everyone on the squad. last time some poor fool thought peter was the leader they got a thorough dressing down from a benevolent tree and a raccoon

7) gamora teaches peter how to fight w knives and he spends most of their sparring sessions trying not to get distracted by her general existence. this is not even close to the realm of successful & she regularly kicks his ass and occasionally even deliberately kisses him in the middle of a fight to throw him off his game (it works every time, and every time he goes like “baaaaaaaaabe” in a whiny voice from his spread eagled position on the floor, and every time gamora is like “your opponents will attempt to distract you, you must prepare for it” in a totally serious voice except she’s secretly grinning bc ofc she is she’s a loser)

8) LISTEN,,,, they tell each other dumb stories a lot just to make each other smile. like they just sit around for hours whilst the milano floats thru space swapping their least Sad childhood stories and trying to embellish them in just the right way to pull a smile from the other person, bc they’re losers

9) sometimes when he’s really drunk peter gets up on tables and announces to the whole world that his wife is the most coolest person in the whole world, have you heard of her, she’s so amazing I love her so much you guys look have you met her I love her do you know that I love her and she’s amazing,

9 b) he does this in public and in the kitchen space of the milano, where he makes it halfway thru his speech before rocket throws a wrench at him

10) anyways um gamora sits cross-legged sharpening her sword a lot whilst peter braids her hair. its a Calming Activity. also they find some old crappy terran nail polish in a junk shop somewhere and peters like “my mom used to wear that stuff” in a soft voice so gamora takes it with them and when they’re feeling tired or everything is A Lot they sit quietly and listen to music and she paints his nails
