A face in the crowd.
Honestly believe this is the best ending. I know general consensus is that "The Sun" or "The Star" endings are the best, and while I agree, I think "The Tower" was very well-written.
Depending on how you roleplay your V, this ending can be on either side of the bittersweet spectrum or right in the middle.
Playing as a Corpo V who admittedly misses the privilege of being part of the elite but despises the shady politics behind it (despite being really good at navigating the corpo world), she thought aiming to be a legendary merc in this godforsaken city would be leagues better. But I feel like, just like how Johnny's choices in life were less about his ideals and more about exacting revenge or directing his anger to anyone but himself, my V in this playthrough became a merc not so much because she wanted to, but because Jackie introduced her into this lifepath and saw no other option after her former life came into shambles. Even after Jackie's death, she kept on taking gigs, because what else is she good for? And in a way, this is her way of honoring Jackie.
I like this ending because it forces V to come to terms that her lifepath doesn't have to be tied down to her upbringing (former corpo lifepath) and Jackie bringing her into mercenary work. She can be anyone, whether she'll attempt to get back to one of her former lives or pick an entirely different lifepath, at the very least this time she has a cleaner slate to start on.
Quiet life or blaze of glory.
