“Gaslighting does not require deliberate plotting. Gaslighting only requires a belief that it is acceptable to overwrite another person’s reality. The rest just happens organically when a person who holds that belief feels threatened. We learn how to control and manipulate each other very naturally. The distinguishing feature between someone who gaslights and someone who doesn’t, is an internalized paradigm of ownership. And in my experience, identifying that paradigm is a lot easier than spotting the gaslighting.”
— 10 Things I wish I’d known About Gaslighting (via azspot)
when i was a teenager it felt very revolutionary to be cruel to myself. like some kind of slow passive protest against how much everything hurt. i starved myself of sleep and food and tenderness because it felt right. it felt sharp and angry and radical and i wanted to be those things. adulthood is the realisation that the world is already working to cut into you well before you learn how to do it yourself. caring for yourself and others is the real protest

This show was the funniest fucking thing
He never elaborated on this and it kills me
If I remember correctly it eventually got out.
Apparently this was a rehearsal for the scene, so the extinguisher was a prop one (hence the moment Miranda sassy looks at the camera/crew for how he was acting her in panic), so they went on to it.
But someone had switched the extinguisher to the actual fire thrower that would be used on the scene (I dont remember if was proposital or not or simply a mistake because they were meant to be identical).
So this is their actual reaction, cause when he pressed the valve, he really wasnt expecting to fire come out, neither was Miranda, so their reaction is 100% genuine and they did freak out as on tape.
The thing went out so well they were unable to reenact their reactions or surprise as the first time on rehearsal, so the rehearsal scene was kept and put it into the actual episode.
Are you telling me Miranda was eating that carrot with whip cream for fun and not because the scene called for it.
Ohohohohooo it is hereeee! print from @theshitpostcalligrapher
ayyyy glad it arrived safely!
Hey everyone, I know it's going to be a busy day for a lot of people, but Google enrolled everyone over 18 into their AI program automatically.
If you have a google account, first go to gemini.google.com/extensions and turn everything off.
Then you need to go to myactivity.google.com/product/gemini and turn off all Gemini activity tracking. You do have to do them in that order to make sure it works.
Honestly, I'm not sure how long this will last, but this should keep Gemini off your projects for a bit.
I saw this over on bluesky and figured it would be good to spread on here. It only takes a few minutes to do.
Writers: It's asking to read your Google Docs and be able to 'summarize' things from them and such things. I just turned all mine off.
Because this isn't mentioned above, also go to google.com/drive/settings and turn off all the annoying bits that interface directly with docs there.
This is all in the "privacy" tab of your settings. How fun that everything is hidden two layers deep. 🙄 This DOESN'T get rid of the stupid little star constantly asking you to use it, unfortunately, but that's what the picker in ublock is for. 😉

Having to reblog this again for painfully obvious reasons.
Senpai says you’re welcome
Reblogging again because I just realized that if I had this advice in high school I would’ve never made a tumblr account.
Also works for most of those news sites like WSJ or NYT that only let you read a little bit, or block adblockers. Also some disable the scroll bar but if you go to the right side of the console after hitting F12 and look for the CSS element “overflow” and change it from “hidden” to “visible” then you can continue scrolling for free. Might have to click around on different parts of the page to find it, but it should work.
There’s also a Firefox/Chrome extension called Behind The Overlay that does all that with one mouse click. Used it for years; what a time saver.
And if you encounter a true paywall, use Archive.Today to bypass it. Just paste the paywalled url into the blue “search archived snapshots” box near the bottom:
