*When everyone was trapped in the Burial Mounds*
Wei Wuxian: I'm not saying your the dumbest person in the world.
Su She: ...
Wei Wuxian: I'm just saying you better hope the dumbest person doesn't die.
*Discussing who should take a night hunt nearby*
Random sect leader: The Nie? I wouldn't call the Nie to help me find my dick!
Jin Guangyao: Sect Leader Nie is here.
Nie Huaisang *from the back of the room*: You can't find your dick?
Feng Xin using the alias Nan Feng was really the worst idea he could have had because I didn't even realize it was an alias when I was reading the book. I legitimately thought it was just another one of Feng Xin's titles cause my brain completely forgot about them introducing themselves as their own subordinates. At least it took me a little longer to figure out who Fu Yao was.
The worst thing about the Lans only falling in love once is that they seem to fall in love with the most easily cancellable people, and if there is one thing the cultivation world likes to do, it's cancel people.

Was it ever actually confirmed that Mo Xuanyu was gay? Cause the only evidence that anyone has was that he was supposedly in love with Jin Guangyao (according to rumors only) and that's why he was kicked out of the Lanling Jin, but that could also have just been the excuse Jin Guangyao used to kick him out because he couldn't expose the real reason for kicking him out (which was probably him finding out about Qin Su from Nie Huaisang)
I find it absolutely hilarious that Tianlang-jun thinks Luo Binghe, Shen Qingqiu, and Zhuzhi-lang had a threesome instead of the various obvious reason that they were in a precarious position in bed is because Shen Qingqiu was trying to hide Luo Binghe behind Zhuzhi-lang
My favorite things so far about SVSSS is instead of being a novel about every female character falling in love with Luo Binghe, it turned into every male character falling in love with a very oblivious Shen Qingqiu
I just started reading SVSSS and I am so confused about the difference between a sect leader and a peak lord. I have read MDZS so I know what sects and sect leaders are but in SVSSS there seems to only be one sect with a bunch of mini sects inside of it called peaks (I am only in vol 1 so I don't know if the number of sects changes).
Anyway, of someone could explain the difference between sect leaders and peak lords that would be really helpful (also how is YQY both?)
I find it hilarious that Wen Qing insisted on planting radishes over potatoes when potatoes are actually probably easier to grow in harsh environments and they make people feel fuller much faster than radishes. On top of that, a mound of dead bodies would actually be great for growing crops because they make great fertilizer (I don't know how resentment would effect the soil though)

How is it that people interacted with Wei Wuxian post-burial mounds and didn't immediately try to get him help? Like he was very obviously not alright in the head and the only one who actually tried to do anything about it was Lan Wangji (and in a way so that it didn't actually seem like he was trying to help him so it was kinda useless).
I'm just amazed that the simplest of platitudes of "I'm fine" from Wei Wuxian and people are just like "ok, makes sense" like he didn't go missing for 3 months and then immediately went on a murder spree.
I have seen a lot of people that make out Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng's problems to just be Jiang Cheng's fault, but truthfully they were equally at fault.
Yes, Jiang Cheng is quick to anger and extremely jealous of Wei Wuxian so he tries to hurt Wei Wuxian in order to "bring him down to his level" so to speak (i.e. finding faults in Wei Wuxian so that he isn't always better than him).
It's also true, though, that Wei Wuxian did not respect Jiang Cheng as a leader. He never followed Jiang Cheng's orders and never gave him an explanation as to why he wasn't following his orders. He believed he should shoulder every burden alone without stopping to ask whether it was something he even needed to bear. And even though that might stem from how he was treated by Jiang Fengmian and Madam Yu and being taught that he was essentially a shield it also means that he didn't trust Jiang Cheng to share burdens with him even though Jiang Cheng was supposed to be his leader.
Because Wei Wuxian would never explain himself to Jiang Cheng, Jiang Cheng would have to come up with his own reasons that he wouldn't be obeyed which would generally be self-deprecating but also paint Wei Wuxian in a bad light making the rift between them even bigger.
If there relationship was ever going to improve, it would have needed a lot of work from both of them so people should stop blaming everything on Jiang Cheng because Wei Wuxian has faults as well even if it seems people won't address them sometimes.
Wei Wuxian: I would take a bullet for you.
Jiang Cheng: You are basically suicidal so that means nothing to me.
Jiang Cheng: How did you get Huaisang to participate in training?
Wei Wuxian: I threatened to reveal his dark secret.
Jiang Cheng: What's the dark secret?
Wei Wuxian: I have no idea, I was just bluffing, but it must be really bad.
Jin Guangyao: Mingjue, I know I haven't always been honest with you, but I swear on Lan Xichen's life-
Nie Mingjue: Stop swearing on his life!
Jin Guangyao: I'm telling the truth this time!

In MDZS, after seeing Lan Wangji's scars, Wei Wuxian mentions that he had never been struck with a discipline whip before, but Jiang Cheng had. This is interesting to ke because, as far as I remember, it never gets mentioned again (granted I am still on volume 1 of my reread). What do you think he would have been struck with a discipline whip for?
Fun fact: according to chapter 3 of the English version of the published novel, everyone from the Lan Clan is at least a little bit germaphobic.
