hi tumblr, I've been here for years, mostly just rebloging good art and memes. But I'm making this post in hopes for some help. my mom recently found this sweet dog who has either escaped or was dumped by a backyard breeder. she was possibly bred for dogfighting (unfortunately common in my area) and she's in rough shape. she's completely blind in her right eye, she has was looks like a mammary mass on her belly and she is, of course, not spayed. I have commission info and example art on my Kofi! all money from commissions right now will be going toward her vet treatment!!

She went to the vet today! prognosis is tentatively good! she's been prescribed allergy meds for her itchiness, she's having her mammary tumor removed next Monday and spay on the 28th! She's had 2 seizures with in the last 5 days, the vet guesses she around 10 and possibly epileptic so we'll be keeping a close eye on her. she's got a busy month, but I think she's on the road to recovery!

8am today she was dropped off for surgery to remove the large and growing mammary mass on her belly. which was a risk for several reasons, she's older, her pre surgery blood work showed that her kidney function wasn't great. but the growing mass was far too concerning to leave on her, it was growing rapidly and bleeding. she'll be more comfortable without it.

Aug 14-19

surgery went well besides a seizure near the end. got pretty horribly swollen and had a few seizures, but is doing better and is on anti-seizure meds. the surgery was really hard on her body given her age and health so we may not be able to get her spayed at all. she is a terrible pill-taker, but it seems like peanut butter is the way to go! (not by me though. i am allergic.) my dad has been supremely unhelpful (as he always is. never met a MAGA dude who wasn't awful) but at least he's kind to Candy. me and my partner are both disabled, which makes it hard for us to do our side gigs for money between the many doctors appointments but we'll soldier on!
