Some sir mortimer bombito shamash and svantovit proxy stls printed by afterdark prints, and a couple ironwind metals hephaestus tanks, painted up in the classic hell's horses iota galaxy scheme by me.
Ok so there's a Battletech tournament happening less than an hour from my summer job and I'm thinking of going, but I'm not sure what I want to bring, so I figured why not put it to a poll?
What archetype should I take to the Battletech tournament
Double Juggernaut: 2 big assault mechs with some light/medium/ba support
Face Go Smash: medium/high speed, high damage mechs in your face all the time
Wall of Steel: lots of cheap heavy and assault mechs
Hammer and Anvil: medium/heavy gunline with fast cavalry to hold the enemy in pl
Some cgl battlemechs I painted up in lyran guard colors again. Griffin IIc, jade hawk, ostroc, marauder, longbow, and marauder II. Finished out company 4 for them.
Take your Panther to work day

Painted up some jade falcons for my wife
I like to kitbash a lot. Recently with battletech that has led me to create my own melee black knight, since the original model is a bit hard to find.
In other news I had an Alpha Strike match two days ago. It was more learning experience - my Clan Sea Fox star was noticeably slower than the highly refitted Hunchbacks and Linebackers. By sheer firepower I managed to get a victory, but barely. Speed has a quality all its own, apparently. It does dishearten me a little though; the more optimized a wargame is, the more it tends to be uniform and bland. Too samey.
The whole project together- the only thing 'binary' about this Pride is the TO&E!
It is once again time for Pryde month

Iwm making a modern swayback??

While on an extended contract with the Raven Alliance during the Early Republic era, we hired a young pilot, Angel Verdun, to join our cause. Unfortunately for this pilot, she was assigned to our Shadow Cat J. Angel performed excellently during our campaign's practice missions. However, on our first battle with an enemy we were quickly made aware of the Shadow Cat J's flaws; as soon as one of the 7 Gauss rifle variants onboard would be hit, it would start a volatile chain reaction with the mech's internal components. Paired with the ammo packed into this mech and the fragility of its chassis, this warmachine would quickly turn into a smoking rubble if it was met with a challenge. Our opponents at Rawhide's Roughnecks nicknamed it "Popcorn" due to the fireworks displayed by the mech's self-destruction.
Angel would come out of her first battle in a state of near-death as her neurohelmet had fried most of her brain. Miraculously, and using the Raven's medical technology, she managed to survive and heal-up for the next battle. During the course of this 7 mission campaign however we were limited to using the same star of mechs we had selected initially, and Angel could only use the Shadow Cat.
Angel finished her tour having died 4 times due to neural feedback, and every single time she was put back together having lost a part of herself. Our peppy little pilot slowly turned into more of a machine than man.
I keep recalling the ancient thought experiment known as the "Ship of Theseus"; If a ship's original components are replaced with identical parts, is it even the same ship? At what point does it become a different ship? What about the human brain?
Most average Shadow Cat J performance. The ammo might not be explosive but everything else is!
It didn't really occur to me that the AP gauss rifles would explode like the HAG or the ammo. In all my practice rounds I didn't get crit there. In the first tournament match however.... fun surprise
Couldn't actually hold any control points throughout the whole tournament without turning into a fire cracker
I feel like regardless of loadout the shadow cat is gonna struggle if you use it to hold points. She's a mobile fencer at heart, asking her to stand still can only go so many ways
Taking suggestions for cursed/blursed/whacky clan mechs and variants, or mechs that are straight up bad.
Wanting to organise a Clan only Auction Tournament.
Which means I don't want anything people would usually *want* and instead give them stuff to Make Do with. For example I'm after stuff like the Hellbringer, and Puma S or TC.
Some rules: I want minimal C-LPL and C-ERPPC as they're just kinda good? And also jump 7+ kept to a min unless it's actually a rubbish machine.
A web-based application for managing BattleTech forces with interactive record sheets that can be used online or printed.
Some goobers for you
I giggled so freaking hard seeing the Rifleman IIC 10
What do you mean they took the most undercosted mech in Battletech and gave it 4 ProtoMech AC/8’s ! Omg what a legend I CANT WAIT to see everyones shock, followed by absolute disappointment and disgust when they see this thing
The funny thing is for the (bv) price it's a perfectly acceptable mech lol

One of the biggest minis I've ever painted. Tried for a sunrise effect on the back with the crest being the sun, while the belly is a nebula pattern and the jaw is painted silver for the moon. The rider is fairly obvious. A few progress pics and some size comparisons.
