I was trying to look up Feirefiz, an Arthurian knight who's explicitly biracial (though this presents within the poems as him having a condition like vitiligo), as an example of pre-modern European writers depicting black characters and found out there are at least three different medieval authors who wrote different black/brown knights into just Arthurian stories.

Yes, he's standing in a parking lot, because I want more variety to my asphalt bases than just basic road lines. The smooth bases of BattleTech miniatures are great for putting down an even enough coat of Typhus Corrosion for it to work as asphalt, and then it comes down to little details like oil-stains in the parking spaces and the paint being worn off the lines.

Alright I'm gonna stop live blogging CGL forum threads. This is a much better response and it sounds like MUL 2 will probably be ready by end of month but CGL is, as always, characteristically bad about communicating clearly what's going on.

With the upcoming new releases for BattleTech, my brain demanded that I come up with a new color scheme for a mercenary unit.

Still haven't come up with a name for the unit, but this upgraded fancy Caesar (it's one of the named-character-piloted custom 'Mechs) looks pretty good in what I came up with.

Test model for my scouring sands scheme. Decided to go eith Vau galaxy and while I'm not sold on the bloodname marker nmm gold I am otherwise pleased with how this turned out.

As an asside the Summoner H is a fuckin hilarious config. A Very Angry Star is trying to escape from this thing's guts and it does a better than average job of containing and directing that star towards the people you care about killing. TC+heavy laser is a fuckin riot.

No you read the alt text right that is C 2 not IIC. These are very different mechs and it will be on the test later. I really need the red pen for this shit because this is demented.

Jumping alpha is +23 heat and there's an XXL engine so you do actually have to worry about torso loss 🙃. And a cool 2150 bv price tag for your trouble so when you wiff your shots, shut down, and get sent to the big mechbay in the sky by an ornery locust you can take with you the knowledge that you royally fucked the rest of your unit on budget. Just take a Viper I like a normal person for cripesake

To be clear, my issue here isn't that the MUL is irreplaceable (mekbay still works and has several times over the functionality of MUL), but that CGL is so awful at communication that we are apparently less than a month out from the MUL revamp they have been teasing for literal years and the best coms they can do in their sunsetting announcement is a three sentence blog post with absolutely no information on the replacement site.
