i'm going to play part 3 because im in this deep at this point, but my hopes are not high... i'm sure there will still be high points just like there were in Rebirth, but the low points really get to me, especially when they're fucking with a story that has been so important to me my entire life. I don't know whos idea the whispers and deciding to not retell the original story after all the years we waited, but someone at square seems to thing the only audience that matters is the KH Disney adult crisis core fans, which is extremely odd. The fandom was not that big at all whatsoever before the FF7 "remake", it just feels like they had all this supllemtnal materia for FF7 that was not well written and they overthought the lore and felt it had to be somehow injected into the remake project and now the story is a muddled mess because it's not a remake its somewhere between a sequel a prequel and a reimagining, but really, its just a sequel to the crisis core/advent children plot. Kinda like how the remake for Silent Hill 2 is hinted to be a "sequel" of the original story, where James is trapped in a loop. but this is not explicit, and it does not mess with the story whatsoever, it's done in a way that honors the original. FF7 took the opposite approach and decided that the OG fans just basically don't matter at this point.
