I don’t know what’s worse. SY remembering LBH and missing him but still having hope that he can somehow find him. Or SQH *entirely foregetting about his lover*.
Even if LBH found a way in the modern world to reunite with SY and take MBJ with him, MBJ would only find someone who doesn’t know him anymore and probably things he’s crazy.
SY still knows what went down in PIDW and he and LBH can just continue were they let off, after some talking and crying and explaining. But MBJ won’t have that with SQH, he would have to try live in this foreign modern world on his own (maybe with the help of SY) but he doesn’t have someone he can fully lean on like LBH can.
And at the same time he somehow has to get his lover, who thinks he’s crazy and scary, to fall in love with him again. Or, he would have to find a way to simply leave again. Return to the world he knows but without the person he learned to care so much about. The only person he ever learned to trust.
