Speech | Vixen
âOn the behalf of my family, i would want to thank you all for being here to celebrate the birthdays of Richard Baroin, Oliver Parra and most of all my beautiful granddaughter AurĂ©lie st. Clair. I personally want to thank Cecelia and Charlene Hathaway to welcome us all in their venue Vixen.
As a grandfather i feel blessed that i could witness my cherie turning into such a beautiful woman. Because i do can still remember it like yesterday how the five year old AurĂ©lie would sit on my shoulders and telling me that she doesnât want to speak French, because English is just fine. She would have a lot of reasons why she was right that her grandfather should just accept it. A trait of stubbornness that many of her family members shared. I have said too many times, but your mother would have been proud of seeing how her daughter is becoming. Like your mother i can speak of your grandmother that we are proud of you. That you do us proud, AurĂ©lie. Tonight we shall raise this glass for you, Oliver and Richard. Happy Birthday.â
@Nicolas St. Clair(PRIVATE)
Iâm surprised myself I was able to get through with this. You have no idea how many times I turned around to leave and returned. Alas, I donât want to bore you with that. I know I have no right to be asking this of you sir, but I came to apologize for leaving without a say, and to askâ no, to plead you to take me back. My marriage with Honorâ It was a big mistake. I shouldnât have done it. I should have known better. It just got the best of me, I couldnât handle all the attention I got from it. You know how the Press in this town is, and I just couldnât take it. I didnât want to do something that would have put me and especially you in a bad light. I couldnât think straight when I left. I know I donât deserve your forgiveness and I have been a complete and utter idiot to kick the opportunity you gave me. I know I disappointed you, but I am here now to beg for your forgiveness. I wish to come back and work for you. I will do anything to earn that spot again. All you have to do is say what you need from me. Please!
Are you surprised that you actually need to act as an adult now that you need to face your consequences? That you didnât have the respect to inform your boss with professionalism and decency? You think i actually make a fool out of me, Reynolds? Do you think that i can do something with sorry? Sorry doesnât keep my business going. Sorry doesnât keep this organization going. Sorry is nothing for me. Action speak louder than words. We can apologize over and over. But if our action donât change. Your words are meaningless. If we come to that state Monsieur Reynolds we come on a point that you eventually mean nothing to me. That i can trade from more 100 men that stand in line to work for me. Do you want to come so far, hm? You indeed have no right to asking me this. The fact that the children of these days actually think that marriage is funny thing to do. Thatâs beyond me.Â
Because i am a generous mood this week. I give you a chance to prove me that you are something worth to this organization and your colleagues. First i aspected you to wear more suit and tie. Your paycheck shows that you can actually effort it. Do it. Second you say that your marriage is a mistake. Prove it. Stay away from Honor Hathaway. She will ruin your reputation with her behavior. I know you visited her at the hospital. Next time donât. Third go the Vault you meet commandant Alliot. She will update you what you missed. Fourth stay out of trouble. Am i clear?
@Nicolas[private]
â Indeed, she has, we make sure that itÂŽs that way. Still, itÂŽs her birthday, we should think in a present. Please donÂŽt give him another dog I think that he still didnÂŽt understand what you meant to teach him. Do you mind sharing what you have in mind?âÂ
âHonestly you will give me the credit what i all have in my mind for our granddaughter and Monsieur Parra. Please donât call him our grandson. Itâs too early, mon amour.â he heavily sighed as he took a sip from his nespresso. âLet life surprise you. You shall see what i have in mind.â
@Nicolas. [private]
Time had escaped him. Just how long heâd been sat outside of his bossâ door, awaiting his five minutes at the ear, had quickly become irrelevant, however. It didnât matter what the time was, because if Nicolas wanted to wait four fucking hours to let you in, then you sat back and waited. There was nothing to begrudge. The man had earned that much.
When one of the few employees trusted to work in the residence assured him it was time, Laurent didnât hesitate to follow behind him. He quickly neatened up his tie, and straightened his suit jacket. The grandeur of the whole estate was impressive, but there was something even more so about the office from which the King of the City controlled him empire.
Before he knew it, he was face to face with St. Clair again. No matter how many times it occurred, Laurentâs level of respectâshown in the way he conducted himselfâwould never waver.
âI apologize for the interruption, Sir, but I am grateful for your time,â the Frenchman started, immediately entering the conversation in the language they were both more comfortable with; their mother tongue. Nicolas was the kind of man who liked to get down to business, and Laurent knew it. There was no time for beating around the bush. Nicolasâ time was money, and he wasnât about to be responsible for wasting either. âIâd like to request I return to Paris.â
Le Roi Soleil nodded as he puts his nespresso down on the large wooden desk. Seated in his large chair. If you looked at the estate you would see the hand of Adrienne st. Clair all over it. Only his office was the one that he had his influence on.Â
He nodded as he let his French commandant speak up to him. âTemporarily or permanently, monsieur st. Pierre?â He asked the young Frenchman. He knew that St. Pierre never wanted to effect his professional work and only gives his all for the French Organization. St. Pierre at least had the decency and respect for his boss to inform him that he needed to leave to Paris. Unlike Reynolds.Â

Monsieur St. Clair
Monsieur Reynolds, a surprise to see you in my office. wonders will never cease. It seems. I give you five minutes. I am actually generous for today.
@Nicolas[private]
â Bonjour, Mon amourâŠâ the words left her mouth before she could help it, Adrienne was still hurt by Nicolas, time helped heal her wounds, some of them. Their family was the most important, she could hide the pain and pretend that everything was fine between them, the children deserved that and like a fool she couldnÂŽt stop loving him even after he had done. âWhat shall we give to our AurĂ©lie? And our future grandson? IÂŽve been too busy with the menu and coordinating the last details. Do you perhaps have something in mind?â
âBonjour, mon femme.â he replied as he puts his newspaper to face his wife in front of you. He was glad that they are actually making process. âShe has everything what her heart deserves. I already have something for Parra in mind.â

Michel: Merci beaucoup for the lunch invitation to Séverin, monsieur. I had a lovely time.
Nicolas: Bon appetite.

This certainly came as no surprise, especially since their conversation the other day. Michel had expected Nicolas to ask him to prove himself, despite what Margaux thought of him. Just because she valued his work didnât mean that it was so in Nicolasâ eyes. It wasnât a guarantee, and Chevalier certainly understood. Thatâs why he was prepared when the boss himself approached him. Though he wouldnât have thought for this to happen so soon.Â
He stood calm and collected, simply nodded his head to Nicolasâ words. âI understand,â he said, followed by a, âWhat do you want me to do, monsieur?â
He handed over the file that was only for Michelâs eyes to see. âI expected you to do your job. Donât make me regret it.â

Oliver put his elbow on the table with a solid thud, and put his head in his hand. He rubbed at the corners of his temples, trying to work away the fact that his body was fighting back, giving him headaches, pains. The boyfriend, the eventual husband? The Frenchmanâs jaw clenched, working in a fast pulse. The gaping maw of the support role was about to swallow him whole and he was going to let it happen. A scoff sharply left his lips as he put his hand down to look at Nicolas again. Why was this so fucking hard for him? The Frenchman glanced at De Gaulle; nothing was quite as loyal as a dog, nothing could love quite so innocently aside from a child. When this boss had gifted him the white lab, that was likely fucking up his pillow as they spoke, he had reiterated that point. Loyalty, it was so important, it couldnât be been more distinct. But, what he felt like was close to a prize dog, and it was injudicious.
Parra frowned, âI havenât.â About two years and he hadnât said that. Even Nicolasâ disappointment with that reply wouldnât have been quite as much as Oliver had just felt for himself. He ran a hand through his hair, and about choked on his own tongue when Nicolas St. Clair talked about his absence, and her safety. The man before him was more than death; the conversation almost bizarre. Yes, absolutely, his granddaughter deserved a guarantee, just as much as his boss did. Heiress. Oliver leaned back in his hair, tossing his hand up in the air â how was this real? The bottom line was the Oliver literally would murder any man that involved themselves with AurĂ©lie, he was that deep. But, at that level of possession was cost; most of it being a lifetime of her telling him that was bullshit. Which was exactly what he was buying into. Meeting the icy glare of the St. Clair, the Frenchman nodded, âI can promise that.â He would ask for her hand â sometime later, much later.
âDoes this change-â, Oliver pointed back and forth between himself and Nicolas, not much able to even finish the fucking awkward question.
âI donât expect you to do it now, Oliver. â he said as he grabbed two shotguns to go to the garden. âFinish your sentence properly, Oliver. â he said as he opened the door his office and De Gaulle followed his lead. Skeet Shooting was one of his favorite hobbies that he would do when he was back into his mansion to relax and away from the hectic life that Le Roi Soleil was living. The only thing that asked for Adrienne when she designed their mansion a garden that was big enough to do his activity. That man makes it so awkward for himself as Nicolas only heavily sigh of the thought. The only one that could be blame for that made him so nervous are after all the protective grandparents.
He handed over the other gun to his protege as his valet prepared the shooting. While De Gaulle barked of excitement of what was going to happen. It was routine how he would prepare his shotgun. It needs care and preparation to make sure he will shoot them all. Â âPromise me if i die and my granddaughter sells my shares of PSG i know that you are the one that buys them.â He said as he aimed and fired on the first disc that came out of the machine.

It was time to the test the waters of Margauxâs favorite. Itâs time to show what he is worth in Nicolasâ eyes. Itâs time to prove his worth to only Nicolas. âMonsieur Chevalier, you think that you proved yourself to my sister that doesnât mean that you proved yourself to me. I always prefer to see with my own eyes what my employers are capable. Your loyalty isnât to Margaux, but to this family.â
âTouch my son and i will make sure the whole knows exactly what you are and exactly what I am to you. No matter what you do to me, i swear to god if you touch my son i can promise you everyone will know. That is something I will make sure off. Itâs funny how death and your pride is the answering to everything, i thought you would of learnt from putting your pride first when Emily died - your actions killed her. Theyâll kill everyone you love, not that I think you know the meaning of thatâ
âI am done with you playing me like Iâm a puppet, you canât control my life, and Iâm no longer going to allow you do that to me. Youâre scum Nicolas. Everyone knows it, and soon your family will too. Enjoy loosing everyone you ever cared aboutâ
His smirking stopped. She provoked him. The fact that she mentioned once again his child. The first thing he lets it slide, because a dumb girl like that never knew her boundaries. She did it again. He stopped while his face impression changed into a harden one. He folded his hands together to collect his thoughts. This game is done. This is over. âYou ever mentioned my daughter again, i will personally rip your throat out and shove your head down my guillotine. You only seek attention. The one that you never got from your parents. I will give you that attention that you deserve. Count your days off and watch your back.â he pushed the small bottom under his desk as his bodyguards came in to drag her out.Â
âCall Michel Chevalier. Itâs time.â he said to his assistant and he nodded.
It had been just over twenty four hours since Nate announced his thoughts on him and Erin separating, the words still played over and over in her mind stabbing at her heart each time. She was full of anger but i wasnât directed towards her husband, it was directed towards the man who had caused all of this. Nicolas St.Clair had already taken so much from her and she honestly didnât think he could take anymore.Â
As she stormed through the reception area Erin paid no attention toe the receptionist that told her she wasnât able to go through unless she had an appointment.Â
The moment she walked into the office Erin began to walk âYou know what. I am done with you. I am done with you thinking you can control my life. You may have fathered me but youâre not my father, youâre no father, you never have been a father not even to your own kids. Youâre not the family man people think you are, you cheat on you wife, Emily died because of you and your actions because of everything you are and everything youâve done, Youâve already taken everything away from me so Iâm done with letting you win, Iâve lost everything because of you and itâs time you knew how that felt. Youâre going to loose everything, everyone that you ever cared about because Nicolas theyâre all about to find out the truth of who you truly are, of what youâve truly done. I wonder how AurĂ©lie would feel when she finds out her Grandfather is a cheat and murderer?âÂ
âWell. Well. Well. Should i put an restraining order you and stop talking these delusions thoughts?â as he learned back in his chair as he command his trusted bodyguard to give them a moment alone. Waited when he left the room. He could only smirked at the girl in front her. âYou owe me. You owe me so much. That makes you so insane. You should be thankful that you have the chance to life, but i am the one that will eventually can end it, Erin. You see i have the control of your life and death. The most funny thing is that you know that. It drives you to this state.â he could only love how much destroyed this girl was. She wasnât his daughter. She was a sperm that got away. Sad little thing that will eventually be cursed. âPerhaps i should visit that little bastard of yours. Should i or should i donât. Thatâs the question that i could only answer, my dear.â He loved the power that he had and the hate feeds him in every single way.Â

While Oliverâs initial response was full of anxiety it was not his current atmosphere. Instead, with folded arms, and a locked jaw pulsating in a disappointed temper, Oliver was caught staring at nothing in particular as he thought about St. Clairâs words. AurĂ©lie had lost a great deal very quickly in a short period of time, nearly their entire relationship, and he had never had a conversation with her father, Jacob Bennett.
ââŠlost the love of his life and his daughterâ, âonly living childâ, âmost special person in the worldâ, âshe deserves everythingâ, âowe Emilyâ, âfeel worthyâ.
Instinctually Oliver fisted his hands at he looked at the Russian chessboard on the table to Nicolasâ left. âFeel worthyâ. He was a moron, a complete and utter moron to have not addressed any of these things with her. His ignorance was a heavy blanket and the only person who cared to take it off was a crime lord. âFeel worthyâ. His parents hadnât given a single damn, he hadnât been worthy. His throat closed as he thought about his favorite blonde feeling the way he had in France for just a moment. AurĂ©lie St. Clair was worthy of everything.
âHeâs mine, and Iâm his.â Jesus. This was it. Now was the time. He had to let go of the past, of the things that used to make him him. With eyebrows pulled together, Oliver looked up at Nicolas. Every word out of his mouth was French, and direct, âItâs her. I donât know why. I donât know how. I fucking know, but itâs her. Itâs always her. I canât enjoy things I used to without her. I canât hate things I used to because of her. She gets me to do things I wouldnât and Iâm okay with it. She annoys me and itâs fine. She like animals and all of the fur they leave everywhere but thatâs fine. Why is it okay? Because, everything is so much more disappoint without her. I feel worthy, and itâs because of her.â And you, Oliver kept to himself. Worthy, it meant so much to feel worthy.
He prayed to God if someone could end him right there. Quickly. Maybe Kate would be kind enough.
He paced around his office while his dog De Gaulle curiously wondered what his boss was thinking about. It was the hardest thing that Nicolas have to do in his entire life. Trust people outside his family to protect someone he loved and cared about. It was a failure in his eyes that he never protected Emily as he should have been. As a father and a husband to his wife. It was that point that Nicolas should learn from the things that happened and make sure that the people that were worthy more than business stay alive. It was realization that in this period he truly saw how much involvement Parra had on AurĂ©lie with bonding with the family. The organization. He was afraid that AurĂ©lie would turn his back on him as Jenifer did to her motherâ side. Disgusting as he thought about it. That someone would ever turn their back on family like that. The family that gave her everything. A mother that would do everything to make her happy. Jenifer was family by blood, but never gave that loyalty he received from the man in front of him. Oliver Parra. He was more a family member than Jenifer ever could be. He stood at his side like a real soldier and would die for this family.Â
As the man in front of him switched to his mother tongue, Le Roi Soleil followed him. âDid you ever told her that? Did you ever told her you love her. Those are the words that woman wants to hear from a person that she loves. The only thing that i want from you that she gets that guarantee. Not as your boss, but as her grandfather. That she knows when iâm going that someone is there to feel secure and save. She said yes to become my heiress, Parra. You know how proud i feel? That i found someone capable to lead my organization. You will support her as her boyfriend and eventually as her husband.âÂ

Parra coughed as he reacted to his bosses near murderous last comment. If ever the man had to choose between a beating and this, heâd pick the beating. What Oliver found important to keep, he kept to himself, and this was one of those thing. But, thatâs was likely the point - the granddaughter wasnât his. This wasnât about business, this was a family talk. âFuckâ, the Frenchman whispered in his seat. âYou want to talk about our relationship? Oui?â Undeniably, the Frenchman was uncomfortable, which wasnât the case often.
âCorrect. You know why i do this, because her father doesnât put the effort in his child as he should be. You would think after he lost the love of his life and his daughter that he would come to his senses. That he actually would act like a proper father to his only livening child. That he would wonder who his child was actually dating? Who this person actually is? I actually own this to her own mother to make her feel that she is the most special person in the world. That someone actually would make her feel worthy and that she deserves everything. I own Emily this talk. I need to know how serious you are with her, because she is serious with you, Parra. She told me. Do you wanna her the exact words. Heâs mine, and Iâm his. If you screw her, i will personally put your under the guillotine and never forgive myself that i gave a loyalist a chance to date her.â
@ Nicolas
âI have no idea what this is about, Monsiour, but what I do know if that I havenât touched a needle in weeks, fuck the rumors.â
âThis is not why i called you to come, OliverParra. We need to discuss something else far more important than this. The conversation that you always somehow got away with it. My granddaughter.â
