Wander fans will have to wait again because Craig is now revisiting two familiar shows at his alma mater. What he said earlier is true. Studios want pre-existing IPs. Still, even if he doesn’t return to Disney for WOY’s 10th anniversary, we fans will support his work all the same and we’ll have more time to keep sending the message to Disney until we get the answer to the 6-year-old question: What is S3 about?

People keep saying stuff like “You don’t have to watch this show if there are parts of it that are problematic because I can assure you that whatever you like about it there’s another show that has the same thing” or “If you like this book you’ll love this other book” and I’ve never found that to be true for myself.
I dunno. When I like something it’s never just one aspect. There are a ton of things I should theoretically like based on my interests.
Good Omens has demons and angels and I like the main characters but for whatever reason it doesn’t click with me at all while Dogma does. That makes no sense I know.
I’m obsessed with Scandinavian folklore so I should love Hilda and while I see no problem with the characters or story I hate the design of the magical creatures because they stray too far from actual Scandinavian depictions of them (especially the trolls. I can almost guarantee you that I won’t like the look of the trolls in anything that isn’t made by Scandinavians because for whatever reason foreigners hate the traditional look of trolls and I’m not having it)
Sometimes I’ll ask for, say, a podcast with a topic I like or a type of music and I’ve found some of my faves that way but if I like a specific fictional story it’s very rare that it’s any indication that I’ll like a similar fictional story because a story is so many things coming together.
There’s not really any point to this. It isn’t even brought on by people calling a thing I like ✨problematic✨. I’ve just never seen anyone express the same relationship with fiction and I wanted to put it out there.
I wonder... did you like Troll Tales (Trolderi)?
Considering the cancellation situation going on with Netflix’s animation division, I’m wondering if Craig McCracken has any second thoughts about the company. He was VERY lucky to have made Kid Cosmic in its entirety and with no loose ends. Though I’m positive he’s not at all pleased with the cancellation of Toil and Trouble, the original creation of his wife Lauren.
Admittedly, times like this make me glad I’m not a cartoonist in the television animation business. The following is a list of companies and why I don’t want to work in their television animation department:
Cartoon Network - Heavy reliance on Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball, Teen Titans Go, Steven Universe. Little-to-no promotion for Mighty Magiswords and OK KO.
Disney Channel/XD - Heavy reliance on Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, and Star vs. the Forces of Evil. Little-to-no promotion for The 7D and Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero. Most of all, you guessed it, cancellation of Wander Over Yonder after two seasons even after a third one was primed for production. What I wouldn’t give to look at those plans.
Nickelodeon - Need I explain? The two animated shows that still get all the love are Spongebob Squarepants and The Loud House.
Netflix - Already established at the beginning of this post. Maybe there are other overappreciated shows that make me think twice before pitching a series. If there’s one other thing that dissuades me from making a series for the company, it’s the fact that The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance was cut short after one season.
That being said, I wonder what Craig will do next after pitching some of his projects to Netflix only to find a number of others from other cartoonists being turned down. Will he return to Disney, lay it on the line, and convince the higher ups to let him work on that third and final season he was denied years ago? Will he lose all hope and decide to spill the beans? Nobody knows for sure and neither do I. What tomorrow brings is a mystery.
The big question is: What has @crackmccraigen in mind to do and is he free to do it?

Pretty cute. Considering Wander and Sylvia are using orbble juice (we know dang well they’d have their own ship in S3), Lord Hater is still into villainy, and Dominator isn’t around wreaking havoc, I’m thinking this takes place between seasons 1 and 2 of both shows.
I particularly like when Rosa has trouble pronouncing ‘zbornak.’
I think this could also play out between season 2 and 3 or maybe a time after season 3, even tough I think season 3 will end with Wander wandering of without Sylvia
