We worked hard in school. As teenagers, this was supposed to pay off in respect. Instead we were told that we did not deserve it because we were a generation “raised on participation trophies”.

As college kids it was supposed to pay off as superior education opportunities at lower personal cost. Except the exact opposite occurred as education cost soared. The excuse this time was because “we were lazy” because we couldn’t put ourselves through school on a summer job like our parents did.

This is where the election stands on November 4th at 4:30pm Est.

There are 6 states left and the majority are Red.

I’m really scared.

Scared I won’t be able to be accepted for my sexuality. 

Scared my friends will be killed solely on the color of their skin.

Scared my cousin won’t be able to marry the woman she loves.

Scared I could go to class one day and get shot.

Scared for myself as a woman.

Scared people will continue to be discriminated for doing nothing wrong but existing.

I never even thought about the fact that Willie might’ve intentionally run into Alex outside the Orpheum bc Caleb told him to like,,,,

And if so I’m just thinking about the internal turmoil Willie goes through as he realizes “oh shoot this ghost I’m supposed to be stalking is actually super cute, oh shoot he’s super funny, oh shoot we’re on a museum date, oh gosh I’d do anything for him”

julie gave willie the “you hurt him i hurt you” speech and terrified him

no matter who luke is paired with, he always gives them his flannels

julie definitely went back to the pattersons house

carrie deserves a redemption arc

flynn is julie and the phantom’s official manager no matter how big they get

bobby is a sweetheart

carlos is the best little brother ever

luke is the touchiest person ever and loves hugs and stuff

caleb may be a bastard but hes a fabulous bastard

One of the only moments we see Carrie’s facade drop is after the hallway confrontation following Bright. She tells Nick that she worked really hard on the routine, which we can tell is very true and Julie and Flynn even mention that.

Then she says that she’s hurt because she felt like Julie was trying to upstage her after a year of not being able to participate in the music program. She feels betrayed by someone who used to be her best friend, and in the form of music, something that is at the center of their lives and the core of their souls.

She’s upset because she values hard work and loyalty, the two biggest values of a Hufflepuff.

Carrie shows up at the Molina residence for the backyard concert. She didn’t have to attend. She chose to. Maybe partially out of curiosity. But she was starting to see what everyone else saw in Julie and her new band. She was there to be supportive even if she didn’t have any intention of showing it.

At the Orpheum performance, we see Carrie drop her facade again as she supports Julie and even gets emotional. She sees Julie for who she is now and who she once knew her as. She hears the lyrics and realizes what’s been going on in Julie’s head the last year. She sees her old best friend, who shared her love and passion for music, doing the thing they love and showing how hard she’s worked to not only improve musically but overcome the hardest, most painful thing she’s ever had to face. And she feels the magnetic force and fondness she once felt for Julie. So she lets go of at least some of her grudge and lets herself be happy for Julie and genuinely support her.

It’s exactly like you said, Carrie is in fact very loyal. She may not have always shown it but I really do think she still cares about Julie. I mean they were friends for years before everything happened, I don’t think that would just go away. 

And I think we can agree that in that scene with Nick after Bright she makes a really good point. She has the resources to do all these things with Dirty Candy and hire choreographers and everything and she’s clearly not afraid to put in the work. She did in fact ‘earn her spot’ and yeah to somebody who doesn’t know what’s been going on with Julie and the sudden appearance of these three guys who push her to do this for herself it does look a little like she’s trying to upstage her especially when everyone knew beforehand Dirty Candy was performing.

Not to mention again she has the resources, especially since her dad is famous in his own right. It would be so easy to just use her dads connections to get to where she wants with her own music but she doesn’t. She puts in the work performing at school and at coffee shops and posting videos on youtube and approaching the rep at the end of Edge of Great only cause she happens to be there. When the rep brushes her off she doesn’t really complain when nothing comes from it, at least not from what we see. She’s disappointed, sure, but she doesn’t throw a fit or anything. She’s waiting for the day when she can do this all on her own.

ambition. cunning. leadership. resourcefulness.

ambition, i can definitely see, but with the way she acts, it’s a lot more of hard work & dedication - the hufflepuff version of the trait - as there doesn’t seem to be a particular goal she’s working towards, other than maybe her own individuality - separate from her father.

now i think we can all agree that carrie wilson is not cunning. you can read her like a book. this is the girl who let julie & flynn into her house, pretty much no questions asked, to ‘get them to leave faster’, and if that doesn’t scream hufflepuff, i don’t know what will.

leadership, i can see, especially when she’s with dirty candy, and with the way she acts in class and the way she acts around nick. however, outside of that, she seems reserved & insecure and like she just wants things to be fair - especially with the ‘i worked hard on that routine’, which we can also see her start to understand how her and julie’s narratives may be similar (in how much music means to them, like @meangirlsx was saying).

and last but not least, we have resourcefulness. because sure, we have her using her dads money for costumes & choreography & to get the gig in finally free but that’s all alleged. we know how hard carrie works, with how she makes her own youtube videos (as @darlingsteveharrington said) & performs at her school. there were easier ways for carrie to get what she wanted/‘wanted’, but she doesn’t take the easy way out.
