i've made posts to this tune before and obviously no one has to like kakagai if they just don't like it but it is kinda funny to see some of those anti kakagai posts repeating the sentiment that gai is too good and pure for kakashi bc like, if we're being fr they're both assholes. kakashi is both quietly rude and quietly compassionate just like how gai is both very loudly compassionate and very loudly Kind Of A Dick Sometimes. he tells kakashi to stfu. he throws him around like a ragdoll after the rescuing gaara mission bc he got his ego hurt by a teenager. he threatens to hospitalize a 12 year old. don't even get me started on the entirety of kakashi hiden. just as people miss kakashis kindness because it's often understated, they also miss that gai is quite proudly an ass. he's not being mistreated by kakashi or something they're both mean to each other and its great

the best female characters are the ones that online discourse calls annoying and cannot stand. this is a fact sorry. the more hated she is by the online sphere the better her character is sorry
