I have finally put reading through the cosmere on hold as a whole. I had a great run but reading through and finishing The Sunlit Man gave me the scifi itch that hammered in the nail in the temporary coffin the cosmere's gotta be put into rn.

I really really truly think Brandon Sanderson can make a good adaptation of Mistborn. But the funny thing is no matter who was doing it I would still be worried. There's so much nuance to depicting Vin that like it's gonna make or break in a matter of 15 min of viewing for me personally.

I've finished the first trilogy of the Red Rising saga and I am honestly dreading the second trilogy in a way that I find hard to describe. I know things are so different after Morningstar but I sort of mourn the simplicity of goals oriented by the first trilogy. I can only imagine how many things become so complicated from Darrow nearly achieving some of what he set out to do. I just hope he can see it through in a way that counts for his people and his new family.

I put a lot of stock into my identity coalescing with Shallan herself individually as a character. I see so much of myself in her directly and not so much in her alternate personalities. I think she's the most compelling stormlight character while also being the most stunted by the story consistently going back and forth between combating mental health issues and hype aura moments. I hope she truly gets to shine in era 2 because it any character deserves it, it's her.
