I think Surge probably had the easiest time realizing he was trans. Starline obviously wasn’t transphobic or anything, but did severely repress them and break down their identities and u can’t really make any revelations in that state. And even though Surge is very emotionally repressed abt things that make him vulnerable, I dont think wanting to be a different gender would be viewed as weak. If anything in her mind it’d be like ‘I’m defying starline and becoming more of my own person by becoming more than this repressive body he shaped to his will’. However first he has to get through some ideas abt being a girl to realize that hes trans masc. kit however, is obviously very keen on Surge’s every word, and would likely take Surge’s vocal disinterest in femininity/womanhood (that was just him not knowing how to express her own feelings) at face value and apply them to her own view of herself and her identity. Not to mention playing into how kit views her body as a prison she is condemned to so that she and Surge can stay safe, while Surge’s pov is that his body is cage that by his volition he can make his own. Kit would feel the increased need to keep her feelings about being a girl inside
