But when one of their own does something fucked up, it's crickets?

Even the few calling this person out (minor props to then even if it's the bare minimum quite frankly) aren't calling it what it is: RACISM.

Did they forget their big girl words all of a sudden? Are they no longer people who throw around serious accusations at the slightest perceived provocation?

Not to mention, most of these call outs can't resist bring up what OTHER people have done as if it justifies this in any way.

But at least they're saying something. Meanwhile, nearly everyone else who is always ready to jump down our throats over nothing? Radio silence. Business as usual, la-dee-fucking-dah.

Calling Nuala and Cerridwen by the job title the author gave them? Unforgivable sin.

Draw a POC getting lynched, "unintentionally" or not and giving a half-ass apology that doesn't address the issue? "It's okay, we know it was a genuine mistake 💕"

Let me be clear, this is not about ship wars. This is about human fucking decency. But when you can't help but bring up things Eluciens it Gwynriels have allegedly done, you're making it about ship wars.

I cannot BELIEVE that people have become so brain-rotted over words on a paper that they can't call people out or apologize properly. Not to mention the at least 23 people who liked the post, finding it, what? Funny?

I am happy to hold myself and "my people" accountable without pressure from others and I have done so in the past. You can bet your ass I'd be just as pissed if this was an Elucien or a Gwynriel. But you'll forgive me if I can't take such demands for accountability seriously from the people who refuse to do the same.

You can’t just share that and expect us to say, “oh okay well since you attempted!” You made a mockery of that struggle and you did something extremely offensive without a second thought. You also aren’t the only one who’s dealt with this; and anyone who’s been affected by it knows the weight and severity of su!cide and would never even think of making something so disturbing and disrespectful.

And no matter your intention, it is racist. Maybe should have thought that through too.

Really? None? No doubt at all in your predictions of the book written by the author who said Lucien looked like the spitting image of his father only to reveal that he is actually a bastard? The author who established Mor and Azriel yearning for each other for 500 years just to make Mor gay in the next book? The author who had Aelin paired with three separate mmc before introducing an entirely new character as her endgame? Who invented the ability to fabricate a mating bond for seemingly no other reason than to retcon the nature of Rowan’s past relationship and make way for Rowaelin? Who told us that Emerie’s mother died giving birth to her AND also being beaten to death by her husband in the same book?

I think Nancy is code for Elain and Hank is code for Azriel. Fucking as undercover super spies... Just the plot E|riels were predicting... How could we have been so wrong? Just thousands of pages of this... 😩

Why in the world would this have anything to do with Elain's bond with Lucien?

She doesn't have to sacrifice ANYTHING to achieve freedom from Lucien, she can simply reject their bond. He would absolutely respect that. She had the freedom to go back to Graysen without interference from him. She had the freedom to nearly make out with Az. What freedoms have been taken away from her because of her bond? lol. She gets to keep living her life exactly as she wants and the only thing anyone is trying to take away from her is her ability to help and do something greater for their world (looking at you Nesta and Az).

Think about what Rhys and Feyre were willing to sacrifice "for freedom". For peace. To give those they loved a chance at a better future. He sacrificed his body, he sacrificed friendships he would have enjoyed having, and they both sacrificed their lives. Yet some think the grand epic adventure that will be books 6 / 7 / 8 will be about Elain gaining true freedom by ...... ending her bond? That's a pathetic excuse for a fantasy adventure.

The entire point of the spin-off books was how to achieve lasting peace after the war.

Right now the humans are under threat from the fae on the continent. Eris and the LoA are beaten and abused by Beron. Vassa is under the control of Koschei, her body is not her own and her kingdom has been taken from her because of it. Yet some feel this bold proclamation of someone wanting true freedom is talking about which guy Elain gets to make out with? Way to boil her story - one we've been waiting YEARS for - down to a man.

If someone wants to read a contemporary romance book they should be looking in a different section of their bookstore.

When talking about freedom in a fantasy adventure book, they're talking about freedom for the entire world.

These three female characters means so much to me.

Their friendship, their strength, and the way they found one another after everything they had endured have meant so much to me since I first read their story.

I can only hope that there is still so much more waiting for Nesta, Gwyn and Emerie, and that their stories will continue to have a powerful place in the world of ACOTAR.

Because their stories are worth telling.
