So is Rhysand less of a character too, or does that standard only apply to Gwyn?

Atp they are this desperately aggressive and scrambing that they're okay with being blatant internalized misogyny. The fact that Gwyn has some of these people so threatened that they're willing to openly engage in it online is honestly embarrassing.

Small detail, but an notable one, in the Bonus Chapter, is the contrast between Azriel thinking ahead for Elain and thinking ahead for Gwyn.

Elain was social and loved parties. She was gearing up for a life as human Lord's wife, and all the politics and social graces that life would afford her. She could influence people and make friends easily. She was kind and warm and open.

She is not that way right now. Who she has become has been filtered through the lens of her intense trauma that she has yet to begin to unpack and finding her mate during that time.

SO ON THE FLIPSIDE

Everyone in the fandom can agree, whole-heartedly, we miss our sassy, mouthy fox boy. Who loved to mingle with other courts, travel, make connections, etc. But we all also agree HE IS NOT THAT WAY RIGHT NOW. Who he has become has been filtered through the lens of his intense trauma and finding his mate while the only security he'd known for decades was crumbling under his feet.

Of course they are avoiding each other - they are also avoiding THEMSELVES. How are they supposed to get to know another person when they don't even recognize themselves right now?

And more than that... this isn't just the concept that "well, Az sees her at her lowest and want her" as much as "Az wants someone who ISN'T in her true form right now." AND THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE.

Characters do not begin their REAL arc already healed and ready. They start at their lowest point and grow from there. That's why SJM saying that Elain and Lucien have a lot of healing to do TOGETHER is SO important.

If you want to see women hurt or women hurting other women, you’re gross. I don’t care who you ship. What you ship. Whatever.

I don’t want to see Elain being mean to Gwyn. I don’t want to see Gwyn hurt over the regifted necklace. I don’t want to see Elain hurt over seeing Azriel’s shadows going to Gwyn (saw this one on IG today). I don’t want to see Gwyn “beat up Elain”. I don’t want to see art of them feuding over Azriel. I don’t want to see Nesta having to choose one or the other. I don’t want to see Vassa or Elain being jerks to each other. I don’t want to see either of these badass women or ANY of the women (besides Amarantha and Maeve, fuck u bitches) hurt over a man. If you want any of this, you really need to find another series because SJM has been adamant that these stories are for and about the women and female empowerment.

What I do want to see is the jealousy and the yearning from the men. Give me A+ yearning. Give me the “fuck it” moments. Give me them arguing over their woman. Give me the pent up feelings. Give me alllllllll of it.

I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THE WOMEN WITH THEIR FEELINGS HURT BECAUSE OF EACH OTHER OR HAVING TO FIGHT ONE ANOTHER OVER HIM.

The copium is genuinely HILARIOUS 😂😂. The people who were treating merch as insider confirmation are now acting like the publisher has less information than a third-party manufacturer 😂😂

When third-party merch sellers release something, that's a soft launch and proof of what's coming in the next book.

But when the actual publisher starts dropping promotional material right before an announcement, they're just randomly promoting the previous book and don't know anything?

So the merch sellers have insider information, but the publisher doesn't?

Looking back, I now realise how silly that was. If I could go back, I'd shoot myself in the head for thinking that.

Tamlin would've killed Amaratha either way, regardless of how Rhysand acted with Feyre. It doesn't even matter whether Tamlin loved Feyre or not. He still would've gotten rid of Amarantha for thousands of different reasons.

Rhysand assaulting Feyre was just unnecessary and uncomfortable. I feel like its only purpose was to push the enemies to lovers trope.

Let’s all remember that quote is a Lucien quote, he taught it to Feyre in book one. 🤭🤭🤭
