Someone from my school found this blog and literally told me today she's read my fics
Darry is 100% a feminist and firmly believes women are better than men. Soda and Pony are also feminists because of just how often Darry is like “lowkey f*ck men.” they’re just like “same.”
“Ponyboy got us in a fucking burning church that collapsed on top of me. I’m now paralysed from the neck down and can’t Jailhouse Rock.” -Some shit Johnny should have said
What are your thoughts about the novel vs. the movie?
Is there a scene from the book that you wish made it into the film adaption? Or is there any thing in the movie that wasn’t in the book that you loved? What actors brought the characters to life? What portrayals were less compelling to you? We want to know your thoughts.
Please reblog with your reply or tag us, so we can reblog.
One thing that always bothered me in the film is that Dally has last words when he was dead before he hit the ground in the book. I get it's supposed to make the scene more dramatic but it's always just annoyed me a little

Where's all the ponyboy content gone?? 🥺
hey friendly reminder that ponyboy michael curtis is an unreliable narrator because he is a traumatized fourteen-year-old boy who has been living with a single mind set his whole life and can’t look at all the characters in the book for who they really are as 3-dimensional and you should take most of the things he says about other characters with a grain of salt
@reddieformileven never hide the truth in the tags of one of my posts ever again
this fandom will excuse sexism, glorifying abuse, self harm, and sexual assault but it draws line at dallas having bad breath

I just forced my dad to watch The Outsiders
I feel like its completely ignored just how revolutionary The Outsiders really was. Like a book written by a teenager in the sixties that touches on suicide, abuse, and trauma better than most modern day TV producers is fucking incredible. ESPECIALLY when you consider that back then there weren’t really many resources for these issues, and S.E Hinton was probably going completely off of personal experience. And not to sound like a dick or anything, but it feels like alot of the fandom just forgot all that and instead focused on the romantic + aesthetic aspects of the story (I blame the movie for that. Tbh I really didnt like the movie and you can fight me on that) which really undermines reason the book is so important.
TLDR; I have absolutely no issue with talking about the romantic and aesthetic parts of the story, I just wish that more people would recognize WHY this book was so important.
