Last week saw the Federal Communications Commissionâs chairman, Ajit Pai, release a plan to eliminate net neutrality protections. An FCC vote is set for December 14 when the repeal is expected to pass on a 3-2 majority. This may soundâŚ
Keep this going!!!!
Keep making those calls, sending those emails, and signing your petitions!
We canât get lax about this now!
We have their attention guys!
Tumblr doesnât care about Net Neutrality anymore.
Letâs take a look at some screenshots of an article I was reading earlier todayâŚ
Keyword: was. They donât support net neutrality anymore. Why you ask? wellâŚ
Tumblr is owned by Yahoo. Now that Verizon (a company that hates net neutrality) bought Yahoo, they have demanded that Tumblr must stop supporting net neutrality too. The Tumblr staff has stopped posting about net neutrality.
This site is being forced to hate net neutrality. (article link)

The FCC sided with Comcast and decided to let ISPs censor the internet. The Internet needs to stop this from happening: http://cms.fightforthefuture.org/tellfcc/
Last Wednesday, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler announced a proposal for new rules that would allow for a â fast laneâ of Internet traffic for content providers who are willing (and able) to pay a fee. [1] The proposal reverses the FCCâs previous commitment to net neutrality and open internet and allows ISPâs like Comcast or Verizon to slow down and censor services that donât pay the toll.
We have to be totally honest, this situation is seriously grim. But there is still hope. The FCC already knows that the Internet community wants net neutrality, but they think they can put their spin on these new rules and sneak them through. If we can prove them wrong right now with a massive public outcry, we can literally save the Internet once again.
We need to stop the FCC now. Big business groups are already ramping up lobbying efforts with the FCC in swarms since Wednesdayâs announcement in support of censoring the open Internet and to ensure this dangerous proposal moves forward. [2]
This is a critical moment. In the last few weeks more than 65,000 people have taken action with us. Can you help us get to 80,000 by the end of the day today?

I try to keep the things I reblog as blog/mun-centric as possible, but this is something I just canât let slide.
Iâve been following this cause since last year. Iâve signed petitions, Iâve called representatives, Iâve been to protests, the whole nine yards.
This right here? This is not a joke. This is seriously happening, guys.
Remember the Wikipedia shutdown? That was to protest this right here. If you havenât taken action against this yet, frankly, what is wrong with you? If this doesnât get stopped, weâre going to lose the thing that brings us all together unless we shell out huge sums of cash to these corrupt bastards.
Do not just sit there and keep browsing.
Do not scroll past this.
Fight.
yo this shit important okay? im pretty worried myself
Hey what the fuck happened to all the net neutrality coverage
This shit is still happening people, and all of the sudden its disappeared from my dash almost entirely over night
I donât know why, but I think people are automatically being unfollowed from the Net Neutrality tag. It happens to me every time I try to follow it. Iâll follow the tag, come back 20 minutes later & Iâll for some reason have unfollowed the tag automatically. I think this may be happening to a majority of people in an attempt to silence the resistance. Please take a screen shot of this post in case it gets deleted.
hey yeah can yall reblog this cause this is very important. Tumblr is ACTIVELY trying to silence out outrage at this by making us incapable of seeing coverage of events. Weâre all gonna have to come together and step up about this.
Every little note counts, spread the word, dont give in so easily
I just checked this and i can CONFIRM that tumblr AUTOMATICALLY MAKES YOU UNFOLLOW THE NET NEUTRALITY TAGS AFTER 20 MINUTES
Please spread the word! Screen shot this post just in case it gets deleted!!
The Net Neutrality issue summarized
You (or your parents) pay approx $40-$100 or higher for internet.Â
So that you can all use youtube, google, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, etc. etc. etc. This isnât limited to social media. Â
Net neutrality says, âOkay, since you already paid x amount of money for the month, you donât have to pay for each asset individually. Enjoy your internet.â NO net neutrality means that your service provider (comcast, at&t, verizon, whatever it may be) gets to say âACTUALLY, it lines our pockets so give us an extra $5.99 for Youtube, Facebook and Twitter. Oh, but that doesnât include Tumblr; that comes with our premium package. Thatâll be $5.99 on its own as well. Now about your Google docs and emailâŚ"Â
Thatâs why itâs important. Thatâs why Iâm spamming Net Neutrality crap. If youâre using the internet, itâs YOUR problem.Â
-Email your congressman (text resist to 50409) Itâs easy, you donât have to talk to anyone.Â
-Tweet the FCC. https://twitter.com/FCC
-Tweet THIS guy. https://twitter.com/AjitPaiFCC
-CALL. https://www.battleforthenet.com/
-This site does the heavy lifting for you.
-Sign this. Â
-Sign this.Â
-Email your congressmen (thatâs what Iâm doing)Â https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative
-Swim the #NetNeutrality tag on Twitter. Seriously, itâs helpful.Â
And lastly, GET THIS TRENDING. Itâs trending on Twitter but it needs to trend here too. This is everyoneâs issue.Â
If you're not scared right now about losing net neutrality; You should be. Study up folks, or 2018 is going to fucking suck.
This isnât my type of post but Net Neutrality is so important.
Forget your pageâs aesthetic, share this with everyone you know. Without Net Neutrality, the internet itself would change.
Companies would be able to charge websites if they want them to load faster than others on your computer. This means that they would purposefully bottleneck speeds on every website that doesnât have the funding to pay for it faster speed. Thereâs NO reason for this. Are you a small business with a website and canât afford to pay enough to get faster speeds? Too bad. Are you someone with a personal blog? Slow page loading. Do you want to view a website written by a nonprofit organization for your school project? Youâll have to wait until the page loads because, since theyâre nonprofit, they canât afford to pay enough to cable companies so that their page loads faster.
An alternative to this would be having to pay for faster internet. Internet service should be priced by usage, not speed. For home internet, unlimited use isnât all that expensive so itâs really common. You wouldnât want to pay extra for more speed.
This would possibly affect the way that the internet works on other devices such as your phone, gaming system, laptop, tablet, etc.
We NEED Net Neutrality.
If a company doesnât agree with a specific website, they could purposefully limit traffic to their site. This would be censorship, something that nobody likes.
There are many other reason as to why you should protect Net Neutrality.
This is an issue whether youâre a Republican, Democrat, Left-wing, Right-wing, young, old, male, female, rich, poor, etc.
EVERYONE SHOULD ADVOCATE FOR NET NEUTRALITY.
Guys, also think about he wider costs. Every business, school, hospital, pharmacy, first responder, government serviceâevery single one uses the Internet. So, yes, the individual user will pay more for access, but so will the institutional users. The thing is, the institutional users arenât just going to eat the increase in costs. They will pass them on to the consumer. They always do.
Education, healthcare, every single product and service, plus your local, state, and Federal taxes, will all GO UP.
Losing net neutrality will affect the cost of every single product and service offered in this country. Every. Single. One.
PLEASE people. This isnât something to just scroll past!! Everyone on this fucking website is going to suffer if we lose net neutrality and SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE TO STOP WHAT IS HAPPENING. Iâm not the first to bring this to light, but please, PLEASE, text RESIST to 50409 and you can converse with a bot that will help you write a letter to a congressman or other official who can help stop this. EVERY VOICE NEEDS TO BE HEARD BECAUSE IF THIS GETS TAKEN AWAY FROM US THEN OUR VOICES WILL BE PERMANENTLY SILENCED. Iď¸ urge everyone to speak up about this, youâll really fucking regret iď¸t if we lose net neutrality.
Story Concept
The sassy POC maid who accidentally discovers that their employer is a superhero/villain while cleaning, because he/she never liked reading, so why is this book not dusty? After finding the first entrance, the maid then proceeds to discover more and more, and helps keep their employers identity a secret through vigorous cleaning. Dinner party tomorrow night? Nobody will notice the un-dusted book, since the whole shelf was just wiped clean. And the polished side of the double sconces: the side you pull to open the wall? She polished both sides this morning.
The maid also notices when their employer disappears for the night, and makes sure to bake cookies and have plenty of ice packs in the freezer for when they get back.
Side note: the employer is oblivious to the maidâs knowledge, believing all the helpful gestures are simply them doing a really good job.

The legendary thread is back
đ¨ The internet needs you đ¨
Youâre up again, Tumblr.Â
Back in 2015 you demanded that the FCC adopt strict net neutrality rules and establish a free and open internet. And you won.Â
That shouldâve been the end of it. But apparently not.
The new head of the FCC wants to undo the net neutrality protections you fought so hard for.
His proposed changes open the door to your web traffic being slowed down, or even blocked altogether. You could be forced to pay extra to use your favorite apps. You could even be prevented from getting news from the sources you trust.
Title II protects consumers and democracy by ensuring all voices can be heard.
You know the drill. Hereâs what to do:
The FCC is taking comments from the public, and dearfcc.org is making it as simple as possible for you to make your voice heard.
Go there now đ dearfcc.org âď¸
Youâll just need to provide a name, an address, and then say a little bit about why rolling back Title II protections is a bad idea. If youâre not quite sure what to write, hereâs something to get you started:
Iâm writing to urge you to keep our Open Internet rules based on Title II in place. Without them, we could lose the internet as we know it.
The proposed changes to FCC rules would allow fast lanes for sites that pay, and force everyone else into slow lanes. Weâve already seen access to streaming services like Netflix, popular games like League of Legends, and communication platforms like FaceTime slowed down, or even blocked. Conditions like this hurt businesses large and small, and penalize the users who patronize them.Â
The changes also open the door to unfair taxes on internet users, and could also make it harder for blogs, nonprofits, artists, and others who canât pay up to have their voices heard.
Please leave the existing net neutrality rules based on Title II in place.
Thank you!
If you need more ammo, feel free to quote these experts from our net neutrality Issue Time. TechCrunch and Battle for the Net also have some good starters.
Everyone is counting on everyone else here. Do your part and tell the FCC to keep a free and open internet under Title II.Â
THE ONE TIME I AGREE WITH @staff
alright Iâve been hesitant to reblog a net neutrality post to my snake blog but fuck, even staff is on this boat, I hope it comes across as important
We need to take action!!
If you donât know about Net Neutrality well you need to know about it now. This is no joke or a game because if we donât do something living expenses are going be harder to meet.
If you thought being a college student is expensive bc of books and tuition imagine what youâll be paying just to do a research paper.
If you were against paying for YouTube red well it wonât matter bc youâll have to pay just to access the website. This goes for all social media sites as well. Youâll have to pay to access your email.
Forget paying for basic internet speed youâll be paying for packages that will only allow you to access certain websites. Itâs these packages is the reason why many cut cable and only pay for Netflix. To access the internet will become more expensive and controlled. Let that sink in if it hasnât already.
That is why we need to take action. And this post will make it easy for you to do that.

Singal boost this! Spread this like wildfire. Take action!!
Listen, Iâm not saying the loss of net neutrality would necessarily be the first step in creating a dystopian future, but it could totally be the first step in creating a dystopian future.
It opens the door for service providers to just block sites that they donât like, or to only allow sites that they approve. Then that means governments can do it.
Free communication is vital to organizing a populace and starting a revolution. It already looks bad enough, but the loss of net neutrality would pave the way for a very dangerous future indeed.
This is going to matter.
Iâm just going to keep reblogging these the moment I see them

I canât tell if this is real or just a very surreal meme.
Unfortunately this is real.
Itâs been moved to Dec 22. We now have more than a month to continue fighting. Iâve already gotten in contact with my reps and unfortunately only one of them gives a damn. I have informed the others I will considering their replacements when the time roles around. For those who think that does nothing, thats what they what you to think. Telling your reps that you will not vote for them in the coming elections DOES scare them. Call your reps and tell them.
PLEASE DO THIS! THIS IS OUR ONLY CHANCE TO STOP THEM!
I know for a fact Iâd freeze up on the phone and I donât see an option for signing my name for support, so Iâll give this a reblog for any of my followers who can handle this sort of call.
