Ryland Grace and Rocky have been Isekai'd into a different universe through a wormhole out in space (oh no). Ending up in a strange, fantastical land, the two must figure out how to return to their own dimension to save their suns and planets. Surprisingly, despite being such a man of science, Grace takes this new environment pretty well (...eh, okay first he did his usual freak out and panic thing, but AFTER he calmed down...). It probably has to do with the fact that he was the teacher in charge of the D&D club at the middle school he taught at...and because he's a massive nerd lol
However, the two are informed they are the ones The Prophecy spoke about, a tale where a strange human and a rock-like creature would be displaced, end up in this world, and stop the Impending Doom. So now, they have to deal with THAT alongside trying to get back home. Grace has to learn magic (to be used in combination with science. A bit like alchemy), and with those new powers comes a fox familiar whom he immediately names Starfox after the classic hit game "Star Fox". He also gets cool magic tattoos on his arms that are ever-changing and shifting, usually depicting old astronomy imagery, star maps, solar systems, etc.
Rocky has a spell cast on him that allows him to be able to exist in this atmosphere, so he doesn't have to use his hamster ball. He also gets a bunch of cool gems and markings on him and calls himself "Rocky the All-Knowing" (he also wanted the wizard hat).
Eventually, they stop the Impending Doom and get help from other magic users in this world to open a portal and get back to their universe. From there, they use their new abilities to stop the astrophage from eating their suns and now they can go home :D
The cool part is, now Grace can open these magical portals now on his own to take him anywhere in space (including other dimensions), so he doesn't feel so trapped anymore.
And despite his cool awesome new powers, he's still so lame <3 oh so lame <3 teehee
