Just Existing

I'm alive! It's been a hot minute and here is a little update!

I'm now a whole ass 26 years old and currently getting my Master's Degree.

I also got diagnosed with ADHD (wow shocker), and funny thing is, I got clocked by my SPED ED professor in the middle of class. She told me to go get tested, and I did. 6 years later I finally got on medication for it after trying everything in my pea-brain power to work with it without meds. It... sorta worked? But not to the level that I needed in my line of work. Speaking of- my direction in my career path/original plan has taken a sharp left turn. Still on the highway... but now I work at a zoo? And Pre-K... at the zoo?????

If you told me 20 year old me that, I would have laughed in your face. I wanted to be a 4th/5th grade teacher and be like, the cool teacher, and what ever else. But I discovered I genuinely enjoy the chaos of my littles and the ah-ha moments they have more often. I feel like I'm less stressed with these guys because I have the comprehension and the understanding that they are still actively learning to be a student and so- if they slip up in behavior, it's because they're building that understanding. Where as, when I taught 5th grade, I was more stressed (there were other things, welcome to 1st year teaching) because I was CONSTANTLY behavior managing 10/11 year olds who should have known better than to act certain ways. There's more that I could write an entire article/short book on this these guys, but I'll stop it here for now!

My plans for this Tumblr

As you can already see, I've renamed to nek0-ten, to match my Twitch. I'm going to try an stream more, but balancing work/school/social life/etc. is going to be a ton of work that I honestly don't know if I'm going to have the mental capacity for.

In saying that, my hopes and goals are to use this as more of a blog/journal talking about my experiences and thoughts about my current point in life as well as my previous experiences. I know there are quite a bit of people who are in the same boat or maybe trying to chart similar waters as I am, and I hope to provide a place for constructive conversations and guidance.

At some point, once I write them down, I'll post my 2025 goals on here to hold myself accountable! The general theme for my 2025:

Self Care: Mentally & Physically.
