I wish I could make white people(and not just white Americans) understand how diverse the pre-columbian Americas were. The history, religion, culture, politics was at least as complex as Europe's. There was the full gamut of religions, from monotheists to animists to ancestral religions. There were city building empires, village farmers, nomadic traders, and so many other ways to live. This is all just based on what we know, the fragments left behind and the stories of survivors of an apocalyptic plague. All this before the most extended campaign of genocide in history was waged in an attempt to wipe out those survivors.
Over 500 years spent trying to cut down a whole trunk of human culture.
Do you understand how much poorer our whole species is because of it? Can you imagine where art, religion, and science would be if we still had these vast bodies of knowledge? The stain of the colonial project will never be fully washed clean. We owe more than just the land to those we stole from. We owe them a whole future, a future that could have been brighter for all of us. If only greed and fear weren't allowed to rule this land.

Been dealing with a lot of thoughts regarding how I personally view myself (agender) and how I'm perceived out in the world (fat cis lady) and where that really lands me in the grand scheme of things. Like I'm never not going to be assumed to be a fat lady about town, so it's just something that's as much a part of me as being agender I guess. But also I don't mind having my own identity only be known by people close to me. Only my besties get to use whatever pronouns for me they want to.
i don’t think i’m exaggerating when i say that the average height for women in the US would increase by at least an inch if teen girls were allowed to eat as much as teen boys are
and not to bring my own clocky bitch ass into this but if cis women weren’t so consistently starved their entire lives you’d see a lot more cis women with the kind of bodies that we currently associate closely with trans women. the amount that the standards of feminine presentation are culturally defined by malnutrition is crazy
i am so sick of skinny people it's unreal. can y'all shut up for even five fucking seconds about how skinny you are.
And so it is finally complete! 🦄🩸🐉🛹
I’m sure many of you have been watching my process in my stories. It took over a month to figure out how I was going to pull this off because I haven’t painted much in a while, let alone on a surface like a skateboard deck. It was already hard enough to figure out the subject I was going to paint! I ended up wanting to go for a medieval y2k style considering the surface I was instructed to paint on. I had to make it harder for myself and sketch it out digitally so that the composition would look exact, but of course the projector warped the image on the edges of the deck. Luckily it was an easy fix. Honestly for my first time painting with acrylic gouache on a skateboard, I’d say it looks pretty decent?
Come get a chance to see this deck in person for @marrowcollective WallRide show! Opening night is on June 19th from 5-10 pm at Rogue Gallery & Art Center (@rogueart_ ). I’m really excited to see what everyone else made for this group show. It’s going to be fantastic!.
The life cycle of a cherry.

I need my weird alone time or I will explode
they're trying to get me to do something called ""my job"" instead of reading about medieval english poaching laws
Need to temporarily get way more antisocial. Haven't had time to work on any projects or start a new artwork. Will chew on the next hand that asks for something.

“Teachers are often unaware of the gender distribution of talk in their classrooms. They usually consider that they give equal amounts of attention to girls and boys, and it is only when they make a tape recording that they realize that boys are dominating the interactions. Dale Spender, an Australian feminist who has been a strong advocate of female rights in this area, noted that teachers who tried to restore the balance by deliberately ‘favouring’ the girls were astounded to find that despite their efforts they continued to devote more time to the boys in their classrooms. Another study reported that a male science teacher who managed to create an atmosphere in which girls and boys contributed more equally to discussion felt that he was devoting 90 per cent of his attention to the girls. And so did his male pupils. They complained vociferously that the girls were getting too much talking time. In other public contexts, too, such as seminars and debates, when women and men are deliberately given an equal amount of the highly valued talking time, there is often a perception that they are getting more than their fair share. Dale Spender explains this as follows: “The talkativeness of women has been gauged in comparison not with men but with silence. Women have not been judged on the grounds of whether they talk more than men, but of whether they talk more than silent women.” In other words, if women talk at all, this may be perceived as ‘too much’ by men who expect them to provide a silent, decorative background in many social contexts.”

being fat and feeling fat are not the same things at all. they’re totally different. you can be fat and not feel fat, you can be thin and feel fat because being fat is not a moral failing or virtue like it’s a physical characteristic but feeling fat is really internalized feelings of shame and perfectionism and fatphobia like it’s patriarchy and capitalism at work. ask yourself what you really mean when you say you “feel fat” and you’ll realize you’re using fat as a replacement for “bad about myself” or “worthless and ugly” or “judged” and associating real awful and difficult feelings with weight but that’s not where they’re coming from.
