If anyone wants to watch Star Trek episodes or movies without Paramount Plus, here’s a link to a Google drive :) It has all of the series, and the episodes I’ve watched all had subtitles. I just watch episodes in the drive video player, which is a lot easier than pirating sites and better than paramount plus.

one behavior of suburbanites that well and truly drives me up the wall is the bizarro upper middle class fixation on being “nice”. not kind, not decent, but Nice. the Let People Enjoy Things attitude. and the sense of superiority attached to it. like if you come at me with that you are lucky if you make it out alive that’s all i’ll say

Yes. I think, relatedly, there’s a kind of upper middle-class centrism, which is more of a sensibility than an ideology, because it’s not rooted in any deeply held values. There’s a smugness about being a centrist; a lot of them act as though they arrived at their position through the rational consideration of both sides–proof, obviously, of their intellectual superiority– and not, like, because they’re apathetic and ignorant. This is a personality type more than anything.
