Xander owes his criminal circumstance to Theresa. Separated from Brady at the time, Theresa seduced and later accused Xander of rape. After his arrest, Xander attempted to explain what really happened to his uncle, Victor. When Victor refused to lend a hand, Xander was put behind bars, his blood boiling ever since.

Salem last saw Clyde Weston after his arrest in October 2015. His downfall began after he invited JJ to get involved with his Salem drug trade. To ensure secrecy, Clyde threatened to murder JJ’s mother, Jennifer, his sister, Abby and ex-girlfriend, Paige if he failed to keep his mouth shut. When Paige’s lifeless body was discovered in her dorm room, JJ blamed Clyde. In a shocking twist, however, it was later revealed that JJ had been a secret informant for​ the DEA and Salem Police Department all along. Infuriated, Clyde reached out to his son, Ben—who then confessed that he was the serial “necktie killer." Shortly after this revelation, Clyde was extradited to Florida for a previous murder charge, allowing his fury to build for his return to Salem.

Orpheus made his DAYS debut in 1986 as Roman's partner in the ISA. The two joined forces against the KGB until tragedy struck and Roman accidentally shot and killed Orpheus' wife. Determined to avenge her death, Orpheus blew Roman's home to smithereens. This left Roman to believe that Marlena had perished inside—when in reality, Orpheus had kidnapped her to hold captive at his secret island hideaway. While in captivity, Orpheus forced Marlena to play mother to his children. In return, he agreed to leave her loved ones alone. When Roman eventually arrived at the island to rescue Marlena, Orpheus told him it was too late, as she had "died" in a plane crash right before his eyes. Years later, Roman would learn that Marlena had survived after all—leaving unfinished business between the three of them.
