Madurai Sungudi is a design from Madurai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is an exclusive textile product traditionally produced using the tie and dye method (using natural dyes) by the Saurashtrians, who migrated to Madurai under the patronage of King Thirumalai Naicker in the 17th century.

The vibrant colors and eye-catching patterns of Madurai Sungudi sarees make them a popular choice for festive occasions and special events.

Traditional Kerala sarees, also known as Kasavu sarees, these white and gold sarees hold significant cultural and historical importance, making them a timeless piece of Kerala's heritage. Kerala sarees are typically made of cotton and are distinguished by their simple yet elegant white and gold colour combination.

The term kasavu actually refers to the zari used in the border of the Kerala sari and not the sari itself. It is the name of a material used in the manufacturing process. Thus, when kasavu becomes a part of the mundu (dhoti), it’s called a kasavu mundu.
