October 19th, 1965 (Marquee Studio, London): John has an unenthusiastic second go at reading Tony Barrow’s prepared script for The Beatles’ annual fan club Christmas record, as Paul encourages him to push through. (Note: For some reason George wasn’t around for the recording itself, although he was certainly in the studio prior, as is photographed by Robert Whitaker.)

PAUL: Wonderful Radio Beatle People, broadcasting on one—

ENGINEER: Whoo, whoo, whoo. Now.

PAUL: Okay.

ENGINEER: Off you go.

JOHN: Where’s my copy?

RINGO: In Paul’s hand.

JOHN: Oh.

PAUL: [laughs] Are we ready? Who’s – right, come on, we’re ready now.

JOHN: Where’s George?

PAUL: Who’s doing George?

NOT GEORGE: Me.

PAUL: [to John] Go on. Now, do it straight now—

JOHN: Who’s doing Paul?

PAUL: I’m doing me.

JOHN: I’ll do – I’ll do John. [sounds in background]

PAUL: Who’s that? Shh.

RINGO: Do you mind?

PAUL: Recording here! Right, off we go then, recording.

NOT GEORGE: This is Wonderful Radio Beatle People, broadcasting on one nine nine metres. Remember folks, Wonderful—

PAUL: Will you shut up? It’s his go! [to John] Go on.

JOHN: Ugh. Remember folks, Wonderful Radio Beatle People is Britain’s number one on-shore pirate radio station broadcasting tonight and every night from a—

PAUL: [laughing] Do it right.

JOHN: I’m doing it right!

PAUL: You’ve got to do it right.

RINGO: Come on, Tony’s getting annoyed. You know what he’s like when he’s annoyed. [laughter]

Today in McLennon… Quotes where they are compared to famous love affairs

What do I personally like to write?... I will basically write for any AU/verse you and I can think of-- but I still try to stay as much in-character when writing these individuals, especially since with Mclennon we’re dealing with real people... So I try to avoid writing them OOC as much as possible, regardless if it’s in ‘canon’ verse/universe, or an AU/alternate verse. 

I adore omegaverse/abo, it’s one of my favorite verses, and a favorite verse to apply to mclennon. John as an alpha, Paul as a Queen omega (queen omega Paul is from @apollyodon if you’re curious) and for George and Ringo, depends. 

I do like writing fem!Paul, and that one seems to be pretty popular lol I don’t do complete genderbend for The Beatles, though (I’ve seen very good art of fem!Beatles, but I’m just not interested in writing for it) I do have a fem!John au that involves reincarnation and 80s silver fox Paul. Gotta re-touch on that again one day...

I am personally not a fan of angst-- but surprisingly, I can write it very, very well, and the urge to write it hits much more often than me ever wanting to seriously read angst (especially when concerning these two. There’s already so much tragedy I don’t need it in my fanfiction much or at all) So will I write it? Sure. Will I willingly read angst? Not if I can help it lol

Shouldn’t be too surprising that I do love writing smut/nsfw content-- I can give you nasty. For McLennon, I’m primarily top John and bottom Paul, though I’ll give into powerbottom Paul too. 

While I’m big into smut, I’m also a sucker for writing about domestic, something fluffy and sweet that just might warm you up like a cup of cocoa, or rot your teeth. I have Mclennon kids (I actually need to update their post), and I write them with my partner, it’s fab. I actually have some requests for the Mclennon fankiddos so, stay tuned for when I get around to that lol 

But, yeah lol there’s probably few things I wouldn’t exactly touch on, or want to write about, simply because my muse isn’t interested one bit, or it’s a genuine squick.

This angelic quality [of Paul’s face] was not necessarily always reflected in Paul’s behaviour.  Hoffman noted that though in terms of verbal wit he could give as good as he got, Paul’s replies lacked the caustic edge of John’s words: “There was never really any bitterness in Paul.”

Why aren’t we talking about the best parts of this news?

Muldoon, the Pulitzer prize-winning Irish poet, edited the book, which is based on conversations he has had with McCartney. “Sir Paul and I met regularly over a period of five years for two or three hour sessions in which we talked in a very intensive way about the background to a half dozen songs,” said Muldoon. “In a strange way, our process mimicked the afternoon sessions he had with John Lennon when they wrote for the Beatles. We were determined never to leave the room without something interesting.”

Candid style photos of the boys during their Paris shows in January 1964. These photos, taken by Harry Benson, are studio prints originally owned by John Lennon and given/sold to ‘Bernard Brown’ (which I think could be Peter Brown?) when John moved to New York. They’re up for auction next week.
