My little China Girls

China girls coming to life, one by one and the nature blossoms with them.

it was cloudy again, so i thought of Hawaii.

it was somehow stormy again today in the Greek tropics. luckily this sweet gal from Hawaii kept me company.

Hello fellas! I had this idea to show you some of my workflow, particularly for those who are creative like me, but also for anyone who might wanna know how i do my drawings. In stage 1 i just draw in a piece of paper, first with pencil and when i am satisfied with the result with markers, (sometimes i also add an outline like in this case, in other i may add it afterwards). Then i scan it and i isolate the lineart in a separate layer on photoshop, so i can change the backgrounds any way i want to. In stage 3, i just coloring it, which is easy and fun. In stage 4 the real fun begins. This stage takes me most of my time as i add volume to the figure adding shadows and also different tones on skin to make it more realistic. In stage 5 i use a bluish tone to add the drop shadows and in stage 6 i add the lights to make my figure pop out a little more - and also because for some reason i enjoy the shining! And this is it! Today i want to show you one of my favorite sweethearts of all times and one of America's most legendary couples. It's just an old photo really, a Calotype actually, but i promise you, i will restore it very soon to it's colorful glory. I am pretty sure there's no need for special introductions, everybody knows Popeye and Olive.
