The 72-year-old British actor also had roles in shows including Merlin and Little Britain.
Really sad news, everyone.
Rupert Giles, you phenomenal character. Anthony Head, you incredible actor, who brought such subtlety to this role. At times dark, at times comedic, always hot.
The watcher we needed and deserved.

Saving Scotland's Red Squirrels
We wanted to share this gorgeous photo of a partially leucistic young red squirrel, taken by Anne Marie Dougan in the highlands, isn't it beautiful! Our team had never seen an individual with such striking markings before. Thank you to Anne Marie for allowing us to post it.

Zulu Imbenge baskets are woven entirely of recycled telephone wire in the heart of KwaZulu-Natal, a province of South Africa. In the 1990s, Zulu women began repurposing discarded telephone wires, weaving them into intricate patterns to create colorful and durable baskets while preserving traditional weaving techniques.
One more in the W column for Japan.

i could not eat a dozen fried eggs and would never want to do so. but i almost certainly could accidentally eat a dozen deviled eggs if i was at a party or perhaps a picnic and they were there. they are a highly dangerous food item in this way

Fanzine Friday!- Chemical Imbalance (issue #5, 1987)
I'm pretty sure that Chemical Imbalance first came into my orbit when I started going to See Hear, the terrific fanzine store in the village in NYC in the 80's and 90's. In fact, I think editor/publisher Mike McGonigal worked at See Hear for a time (but I didn't actually meet Mike face to face until the 00's when I lived in Portland, Oregon, where Mike lived as well).
I believe Mike had just moved up to NYC from Miami to go to school at NYU, so he must've done a few issues of C.I. before moving to NYC (issues 1-4?) , but I have never seen those issues before.
This is a great issue who, aside from the bands you see on the cover (Television Personalities!! Slovenly!) includes interviews/pieces on Shop Assistants, Antietam, Died Pretty, and more, plus plenty of record and live reviews.
I learned a ton of not only many great independent bands of the day from reading C.I. but also lots of artists, writers, etc. Mike dug deep not just in music but several different art and creative scenes.
I don't think I have my 7" anymore, but there will be reviews of other issues of C.I. on this site in the future. Great stuff!
I pared down the mug collection years ago but hung onto this one. Perks of having Mike as a former brother-in-law.
