my best friend and I were roommates and couldn't afford cable for a little bit but we had a vcr and a handful of movies... Clueless was one of them. And there was a stretch of like 3 or 4 weeks where we literally watched it at least once a day/night lol. it was still some of the best memories ever 😊 ah youth lol

“You like Nine Inch Nails? Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Pretty Hate Machine came out in ‘89 I think they really came into their own commercially and artistically. The whole album has a synthy, industrial sound and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He’s been compared to Nivek Ogre but I think Trent has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. I think his undisputed masterpiece is “Head Like a Hole”. A song so catchy; most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it’s not just about the lies of conformity and the importance of individuality; it’s also a personal statement about the band itself. Hey, Paul!”

In all honesty though... Pretty Hate Machine IS one of THE best albums of the late 80s early 90s. I had the tape. I played it on my little pastel purple "boom box" and blared it as loud as it would go. It made me feel things I didnt know how to express. What a time to be a teenager it was... I wouldn't have chosen any other era💜💜💜

I was super stoked to get the email yesterday that I was accepted as a Goodreads Author. I posted about it in a Indie Authors group on fb and I was informed TWICE by the same girl that this is NOT something to celebrate or to think is a step, even a baby step as I mentioned, in the rt direction... How disheartening. Sure it isnt a HUGE deal. It isn't something that makes me special. But with everything it took to make this small teeny tiny step happen... I AM proud. Even of no one else cares or thinks it is an accomplishment. It is to me. In my life. And that counts... it does 😔
