I honestly don’t have the words to express how much nabari no ou means to me. I adore all of Kamatani’s works but nno holds a special place in my heart both because of the impact of the story and characters in themselves and for introducing me to Kamatani as an author/artist and their incredible storytelling and stunning artwork. Ever since I first read nno it’s been one of my favourite series, and I hope as Kamatani’s more recent works grow in popularity, more people will discover Nabari no ou as well.  Happy 15th anniversary!

Things have been a little busy so I didn’t get the chance to make a new art piece for the 15 year anniversary, but I can’t begin to explain how much this series and Yuhki Kamatani as an author/artist means to me. I picked up the first volume ten years ago and saw so much of myself in the emotions and identity of these characters, understanding the importance of found family and growth. I’ve found so much comfort in Kamatani’s series, but Nabari No Ou will always be immensely dear to me. I can’t recommend the manga series enough and I really hope more people can show the same love to Kamatani’s work outside of Shimanami Tasogare as well!

Gau makes the top of the fave supporting character list over Kazuho and Sourou cause we’re both band kids, so here’s a half-done drum-boy tribute 

I would just like to tell younger Nabari fans that it does get better, that you and the world around you are changing constantly, and no matter how many adversities you face, there will always be joyful times that make it all worth it.

i’m late, but this is also for day 5 (favorite character design) and day 15 (favorite minor/supporting character) of Nabari Appreciation Days (@nabaridays​)! NnO has so many great character designs but I’ve always been partial to Juuji and especially the manga version of the Fuuma kimono ♥

Aru ga mama, by Anamu & Maki. That soothing and healing ending song is a blessing for all Nabari fans.

Other than that, the kind of music I usually listen to doesn’t really suit NnO. Power metal is too dramatic, progressive rock is too weird and baroque music is too old. Well, baroque music could go well with Alya Academy arc. As for classical music, many pieces from composers from Romanticism like Beethoven, Tchaikovsky or Chopin could make a good soundtrack for Kamatani’s works.

(and for those that don’t know, the art is a sketch that accompanied the second drama CD. I was originally gonna use the cover art for drama CD 2 since it has Gau playing the drums -music!- but then I remembered how much I liked this piece lol.)

Nabari Appreciation Day 10: Alternative Universe Despite how this looks, I’m not necessarily suggesting an alternative development where Kouichi doesn’t return to the shinrabanshou. It’s just, I wish they got a chance to talk more, express their feelings, especially Kouichi…. I want happiness for birdboy, for him to stop pursuing death and live for like a few seconds, even if that doesn’t change his and Shijima’s final resolve
