Cries and French Fries

To clarify further; I thought about this when I saw a post talking about the Q&A before one of the liveshows where it was said that Ashley mentioned she has read some Yasha and Essek fanfic and lowkey ships it now. And as someone who had labelled Yasha a lesbian in my head, it threw me off for a second before realising that was never something Ashley confirmed (it was mentioned by others describing her, but never Ashley herself iirc). We see this a lot, characters are queer in that they are canonically attracted to the same or multiple genders, but specific labels are never clarified.

The exceptions are characters like Caduceus, Tary, Beau and Orym whose single attraction or lack of attraction was mentioned in game so it's easy to slap a label on them, but for character's like Fearne or Scanlan, whether they're bi or pan or aro-spec is all up to fan interpretation. Imogen is wlw but also mentioned a crush on a guy in the past so whether that was comp-het or she is bi is up to fan interpretation. They're never specified so specific parts of story will resonate with different communities for different reasons, all are valid.

And it’s not that Dorian and Ashton would be callous about this - I simply think neither has thought about it. They just don’t know what it would do. Like would Dorian let another one of his friends potentially lose themselves just to maybe get the gods to flee? You hate the gods for manipulating mortals and playing with their lives, but you’re willing to let a potentially scarier power manipulate your friend to get rid of them? And would this sacrifice even mean mortals stop fighting on behalf of their fleeing gods? Would this actually make things better or is this just a way to make Ludinus’ plan more palatable to you? 

It really does spiral out to a lot of the same down sides of siding with Ludinus - instead this time the gods might not die. And you still need to look one of your friends in the eye and say “hey, hope you don’t lose yourself to a scary god eater, no idea if you can come back from this, good luck,” Dorian ESPECIALLY should understand what an ask this is after seeing what happened with Opal.
